I ask because I have an old phone running Android 7, and aim not really in a place to upgrade. There’s exactly 1 build of Android 8 for this phone on XDA but it’s an unofficial version of Lineage that breaks VoLTE, so I don’t use it.

All in all, I’m pretty happy with the stock firmware anyhow, I’m just wondering if there’s any way to take Android 8’s autofill framework and add it to Android 7 as a user app. Something like an accessibility service or an Xposed module.

I have pretty much no knowledge of how to code, so I’m asking here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Just update dude.

I’m using Android 10 (which was discontinued around April). But it’s still fairly more recent.

I’m planning to update to Android 14 as soon as it releases though.

Using a phone that doesn’t get security updates anymore is negligent. Don’t try to make it work, just buy something that has basic security at least.

Enpass comes with it own keyboard you can switch to when you need to fill in some data. It’s completely local if you don’t sync to cloud. But the free tier is limited.

Try it and see

And store passwords in the autocorrect? Is that what you mean?

Does keepassDX or keepassdroid work for you?
