Loads fine on Fennec fdroid. It even translated the page from French to English. Consider reporting this bug to ironfox folks.

Pixel 8A should be a good upgrade for you. It also supports grapheneOS so you should be up and running in no time.

IMO it doesn’t go far enough with deblobbing and removing nonfree software, but for the time being i’ll switch to it. Hope someone continues this project.

Who goes far enough in deblobbing?

Highlight the fact that the website doesn’t work for ordering stuff to the parking lot. I was going to suggest social media but then I realized you wouldn’t be using one in the 1st place. Nevermind

You can highlight via email to target. Or consider getting your order close to your home.

It uses wireless or local ADB. No root required.

You can install Shizuku and AppOps to set default permissions for new apps and limit clipboard permission for installed apps.

Doesn’t appear to work in my case. I can a blank screen like I would when trying to screenshot.

Can’t you use the target website? There’s hermit for web apps which can sandox websites for you.

Using android 8 will mean you are using a vulnerable OS so stuff like this should be common. Newer android versions limit app activity and data collection.

You can use apps like Shizuku and AppOps to limit permissions and data, apps can gather on you.

If you lose your iPhone or buy an upgrade, you could reasonably expect to be up and running after an hour, presuming you backed up your prior model. Your Apple stuff all comes over, sure, but most of your third-party apps will still be signed in.

Interesting, I didn’t know Iphones did this. Will reduce the friction even more when switching phones.

One thing to note. They still exist on your phone. But, are uninstalled for the primary user.

Not buying a carrier locked device would be a start.

Interesting, seeing penti keyboard being recommended in the wild. Are you also familiar with picolisp?

This is the correct answer. I made a 1.5 minute long phone call. Before recording, the phone app used 152mb of storage space. But, after call recording it increased to 154mb.

Did you not see the news about Autoblocker being enabled by default on Oneui 6.1.1 blocking sideloading of apk files by default.

It’s already a feature since android 12 like the other user said. Try droidify if fdroid doesn’t do background updates for you.

People do not like google play related stuff. It’s understandable.

Smart launcher has the option for google feed. Check here: https://www.smartlauncher.net/bridge

The paid app is the unlocker. It does not do anything by itself. You can check the features on the website or see the play store description.

I only know of hermit and native alpha. 1st time hearing about this. Compared to hermit appears to be only 2 years old vs 10 years for hermit.

There are lots of mention of Native Alpha and hermit in the description. Very strange I never found this option in the 2 years it existed on the play store. Being based on firefox sounds neat. Good for everyone who wants their user agent to be firefox everyone even in lite apps.

Would give it a shot and see what it holds. But, I don’t see myself switching from hermit.

Not to my knowledge. But, you can use one of the vivid color profiles to partially replicate it. The boosted colours should help with outdoor visibility.

Yeah, project mainline to reduce the impact of full system upgrades.

You can read about it here: https://www.esper.io/blog/what-is-project-mainline

The newer Sony phones have improved software support of 3 OS & 4 years of security updates.

Niagara launcher, kiss or kvaesto are the way to go. If you want a decent app search. I would also recommend Smart Launcher 6; the search bar is pretty good. Not to mention the automatic app categories you get for all your apps.

In colorOS smartphones. The default launcher shows ads when you use their search function. Fortunately, this special search can be disabled.

Yeah, this would be the main. There was a time when VLC had blacklisted huawei phones from installing their app on the Playstore when they had enough with the negative reviews.

Your phone needs to be connected to WiFi or data(depending on your settings) and needs to be idle and charging. Playstore will slowly auto update your apps as long as your phone is not too hot for auto-updates. This process takes a long time.

No, the whole point of Gemini is Google integration. Use chatgpt or Bing AI if you want something similar not tied to Google.

No

Edit: I replied after a week because I received a notification about your reply now. I’m guessing some federation issue for delayed notifications and comments/replies.

If you have the play store installed. Don’t bother. Ignore it. GMS are a critical part of android. If something breaks you may experience higher crash rates. They are updated automatically. So, manually updating is not required.

There’s an app called Package Installer available on izzydroid fdroid repo. I haven’t found an uninstallable app on android 14 yet. But, someone had recommended it to bypass the restriction. It needs shizuku or root to perform installation.

Consider getting the OnePlus 12R it should fit the bill and be an upgrade in most ways possible compared to S10.

He mentioned wanting a high quality panel with a high refresh rate which also supports LTPO. Fairphone mazes at 90hz and doesn’t support LTPO.

Considering the A55 reaches the price of the s22 and s23 fe. Why would you not get that instead? Or even the A54. Unless, expandable storage is a big deal.

You could try the OnePlus 12R. The marketing claims 80% peak capacity after 4 years. But, I would instead buy a smart plug which only turns on for two hours every 12 or 24 hours. That way you only do one possible charge every day. Plus, use any limit battery charge function present on the phone(samsung, OnePlus, realme, vivo, etc)

It’s not a setting because it works automatically. You don’t need a switch to toggle this behaviour. It’s always on.

The only telephoto/periscope smartphones in the midrange tier at 6.7 inch display I know are from realme. Realme 12 pro(2x telephoto) and pro+(3x periscope).

It checks almost all your boxes easily from 1, 2, 3, 4(vegan leather), 5, 6. But, it doesn’t have a purple color being limited to blue, beige, and red.

Get PersonalDNSfilter from playstore or fdroid. It’s a system wide dns blocker app. This is for your system wide adblocking needs.

Fastest way to transfer large files between android devices

Anyway to get Live Caption on a realme smartphone running realme ui 4 android 13?
cross-posted from: https://reddthat.com/post/9963551 > I just discovered realme smartphones do not have this feature. Is there an apk or something I can download to get this feature? The smartphone in question is realme narzo 60 pro aka realme 11 pro 5G.
