The studio is mostly ex-Ubisoft employees. So yeah, it’s their first game as that studio, but they’re by no means novice developers. Fair play to them for following their passion though, it’s paid off.
I love the new area, I do think the bosses are a bit overtuned (especially the two new superbosses, but those should be a huge challenge), but I was also super rusty and on NG+5 so I can’t really say for certain.
Super cool stuff. All 5 new bosses kicked my shit in after I’d been steamrolling the rest of the game, only beat the new area boss and called it there - the new tower shit is way too much for me. Might edit my save back down to NG+ and see how they feel.
Not a fan of the Breaking Death nerf though, I will say that. It really cripples endgame autodeath builds. One of those changes where even if it were a bug, it’d been around so long that they should’ve let it stay as-is.
I will be one of those who play the game later in its best state. Like I did with Cyberpunk 2077. :D I just wait until more features are added and bugs get fixed.
No unexpected crashes, no game breaking bugs. Performance was… dubious. It looks amazing, but UE5 has scalability issues. None of the graphics options seemed to do anything for frame count.
Some users with AMD graphics cards get a hard shutdown during the cutscenes immediately after boss fights.
I played through side by side with my partner, they had to repeat a difficult boss fight several times before they eventually just started skipping post-boss cutscenes on their system and watching them on mine.
I do not wait because of the state of the launch. I wait, because game will improve over time through updates. Like whatever bugs are ironed out, new features and balance changes and such. Rarely a single player game gets worse over time. In example FSR4 was added now, arguable making the game better than before, as this is the superior technology for this kind of thing on AMD hardware.

I think the guys starting the project were new. They might have hired experts along the way.
