Thank you! I was wondering why long presses were no longer working.
Somone made a whole article just to say that Google changed long press to tap in an app…
Why?
More fluffed crap to flood the internet but of course
It’s called clickbait.
Not an android feature
It’s a feature of an Android app (I even guess it’s preinstalled on some devices), and it was clearly stated in the title, that it’s not an Android feature, but it’s a feature of G**gle Authenticator.
Yesterday you agreed to my comment, that the problem is when Android and other app features are mixed up. Here it’s clearly stated that it’s not an Android feature.
You request more tight moderation, but unnecessarily strict mod control can kill communities. This news is related to Android, and isn’t against any of the rules on the sidebar. If you don’t want to see it downvote and move along. If a lot of us downvote it maybe OP will think differently and stop posting these articles.
I’m still baffled at the logo redesign to what looks like a butthole. Like, you’re telling me NO ONE on the design team watched Community?
At least it’s an inclusive rainbow butthole, lol
Always looked like a snowflake for me
It just looks like a colored * to me. /shrug
Google Auth and Authy lock you in, consider migrating to Aegis or Ente Auth.
How? Codes can easily be exported from Google Authenticator (never tried Authy).
when i had to do it, they could only be exported to another google auth via QR code. I was forced to recreate the codes on every service.
Someone made a parser for the Google QR codes and now some apps can import them directly. I switched to aegis this weekend and it worked perfectly.
If you need a third party app to extract the private key, then it isn’t actually open. It’s just the step before Google encrypts the output.
It’s too bad Ente doesn’t have any browser extensions, because it sounds pretty awesome otherwise.
Aegis is excellent
Don’t most password managers also have TFA builtin?
