Alternatively, share your favorite mods for CK2, preferably ones that don’t rely on DLCs since I have only been playing for a few months and haven’t bought any
In case of mods, full overhaul would be ideal, but that’s a lot of work, so here’s my order of importance:
I also have vanilla Europa Universalis IV, but I haven’t tried it out yet
Another thing worth pointing out: I’m NOT looking for a 4X, I don’t like the military / conquer focus of the genre
What I like in CK2:
After seeing my friend play Victoria III and Europa Universalis V, I think I’d enjoy a game with a more economic focus. I’ll probably buy EU5 if it gets a fantasy mod with world generator, but that’s probably gonna take a looong while.

A gaming community free from the hype and oversaturation of current releases, catering to gamers who wait at least 12 months after release to play a game. Whether it’s price, waiting for bugs/issues to be patched, DLC to be released, don’t meet the system requirements, or just haven’t had the time to keep up with the latest releases.
I cant’t remember the name and I’ve tried googling, but there was a game that looked and played exactly like Rimworld, but in medoeval setting. It might be what you are looking for, of someone else can find it :D
Norland is rimworld but you only control the leaders of your camp and they have kids and die like CK.
Early access, so not very patient of gaming lol
I have totally missed the subreddit name, hah.
From what I see it’s been in EA for over a year, so it could be argued it may be patient gaming
Do I care? Not really.
Anyway, thanks for providing the name. I’ve checked it on Steam and I’d rather stick to CK2 for now.
This convo reminded me of Lords and Villeins. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1287530/Lords_and_Villeins/
I’ve only seen, not played it, so I can’t say what’s it’s actually like. But the description talks about managing families, so it may be worth checking out. However, you should check the reviews, just in case it fails to deliver.
Looks more like Prison Architect than a grand strategy, but thanks for the suggestion nonetheless
