Valve's Steam Deck rating system is generally quite correct, but there are clearly some times when it isn't. Thankfully, Valve do go back over various games to re-test them and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has been hit with a downgraded rating.
Looks like there are various problems with it but it has a Gold rating.
The most common complaint is performance, which could explain the Steam Deck Verified rating. If you’re running a desktop with modern hardware then you’re probably going to have a decent time.
It runs like crap on my “modern” desktop. 5700x 16gb ram 6900xt gen 3 SSD. I don’t get why games these days run so badly. Massive frame drops and models not loading in fully with shaders popping in and out. Such a joke.

Lack of optimisation. The spec requirements alone point this out but then they still commonly run like garbage.
