FF8 didn’t do it for me, mostly because the gameplay was a terribly broken mess. I loved 12, though; the story is like the love child of Final Fantasy, Game of Thrones, and Star Wars, and the gameplay felt like a logical evolution of the ATB system for a fully 3D world.

FFIX is the best game in the franchise and I’ll die on that hill.
6, 7, 8, 9 is the golden age of the series. I have a favourite among those four, but let’s leave it at that.

The CG was rough. In-game models were OK. The worst part is how slow battles were. Those opening transitions were so slow.
This is all true, but I refuse to take off my nostalgia colored glasses.
Loved the gameplay, though!
