Having most of the instances on LW give a lot of power to the LW admins and mods, while spreading them out could be more ideal from a power distribution perspective

The issue is that we don’t have that many admins. As you can see from the activity, the interest on that topic is quite limited. Having a single community now seems enough.
There are others for liverpool and Manchester United but only 1-2 people are active on those. The arsenal community has 4-5 regularly active members and some people dropping in from time to time. I guess it is the only thriving(for a lack of a better word) team specific community.

Just found this thread, if there is ever an interest in football specific lemmy I have the lemmy.futbol domain, which would be quite fitting imo
