hello, mod here! I’m not that active on Lemmy these days so if you want to take over this community and migrate it elsewhere then that would be fine. I keep an eye out for reports etc but I don’t really post here anymore.

Given there are already 5k subs here, I would say it makes more sense to add active moderators rather than try and move the community.

I also recall we advertised for more mods recently and didn’t get much response, so really what we need is a very active mod willing to build up this community. If moving to another instance is the best way to do that, great.

Totally agree about the offside rule. It’s so boring when attacking play is ruined on a technicality based on a three pixel attacking advantage. Totally misses the point.

Thanks but with two now that is enough! If the community grows we’ll come back out for another in the future.

That sounds great, I also miss match threads. You’re hired!

Looking for new mods for this Community
Hey all, I've not been putting as much time into Lemmy as I thought I would, so I'm requesting applications for new mods! There isn't really anything to do in terms of reactive moderation, there's almost never any reports etc, but a proactive approach to growing the community, encouraging posts, and all that sort of thing would be great. Let me know below if you are interested!

it’s not stuck is it? doesn’t look like it is to me

Someone, somewhere, is making decisions about piracy without understanding how it works. And no one could be bothered to correct them.

I think this has been disproven already? Easy to just keep warm whilst waiting for decisions too.

Burnley, Leeds and Leicester plan to sue Everton for £300m after Toffees were found guilty of breaking Premier League spending rules
Article copied to save you a click: Burnley, Leeds and Leicester have confirmed their intention to sue Everton for a total of £300million after the club were found guilty of breaching financial fair play rules.  Mail Sport has learned that senior figures at the three clubs held talks this afternoon to reaffirm their plans to sue after the Premier League confirmed Everton's guilty verdict and 10-point deduction, the biggest in the competition's history. The aggrieved trio are understood to have agreed to follow through on their previous threats to sue Everton, which they formulated over the summer after Sean Dyche's side narrowly escaped relegation on the final day of the campaign by just two points.  Leeds and Leicester were relegated to the Championship and Burnley have leant their support as they remain convinced that Everton's spending breached financial rules the previous season when they were relegated.

Fantastic summary! What diet is Carvajal on? Why do you hate Valencia??

Agreed! BT Sport used to do an amazing European Football show but sadly they cancelled it. The Athletic podcast have a good European episode every week too. Maybe some discussion on those would be good.

Daily Phil Jones thread, got it.

Yeah agreed, also a United fan slowly losing patience with football being a miserable experience but I still enjoy seeing bangers and tactical stuff posted. Thanks!

Yep, I saw this on the [email protected] community I mod. Posted something good myself every day for weeks and people start to pay attention, and now it’s relatively active on its own with 2k subs.

Yep Google Play Music was literally perfect. It was incredible. And now it’s gone I have to use Spotify and the world’s most backwards fucking ‘add to queue’ logic. Get fucked Spotify. Best of a bad bunch.

Can confirm, I listen to podcasts on Spotify and it’s really annoying.

If you like Borderlands you should play it. It’s got more charm than 3, and the engine is about as good.

So overall I still think 2 is the best game, but TTW is definitely worth playing.

BG3 came out and RPG fans across the world realised what an RPG was actually meant to be. D4 is so, so shallow, it honestly did not hold my interest through the first season.

The base game content is barely interesting enough to play through, let alone playing through again from scratch with only the four quests they added to spice it up again. Drab.

I think current wisdom is to take a break from BG3 with Armored Core 6.

Add a big asterisk to this with a footnote, just like everything else City have achieved over the last years.

Well that was a rollercoaster.

“He didn’t do it, but he’s leaving anyway”

Fantastic he’s going but slightly absurd announcement.

can’t believe it’s so slow to download :'(

potentially decent gains in the short term but certainly contributes to this industry turning to crap long term.

Hmm where have I seen that before

I’m in the same boat, looking to upgrade from my Oneplus 8 Pro and not interested in the new oneplus phones because there’s no wireless charging. Bizarre.

Currently looking like the Pixel 7 Pro is my best bet I think.
