Ubisoft has teamed up with a Dead Cells developer to create their own roguelike platformer, and it has the makings of a winning combo.

You are right, they are very personal. It’s like in Bloodstained Ritual of the Nigh where, while the game itself is great but I can’t stand the art style. However many people seem to love it.

Oh I felt the same way about Bloodstained. I had no Castlevamia nostalgia and it just looked… dated.

I don’t know how many people “love” Bloodstained’s art design. You either can look past it or you can’t.

This looks great, though. I would take this look over Guacamelee’s any day. Mostly because I don’t like to play Guacamelee, but also I never loved the angular, flat look and the weight of the animations was all off for me.

I’m really annoyed that they won’t let you remap movement to the d-pad, though. I’m probably going to wait until they implement that to give it another look.
