It’s not shown on this video, and I wasn’t able to find a video of the exact machine in question from a very quick search, but similar machines appear to have them in the capsules.

Not even ESD-safe packaging? These are probably all mildly defective to begin with, but they definitely will be after they take a ride in the machine in those balls.

The video featured in the article had the cpu in its protective plastic casing.

That was my concern. I hold computer chips like I’m holding nitroglycerin. And this machine is just rolling them around all willy nilly
