Yeah I don’t know where exactly I was going with that, but you’re right in the sense that for industry itself it’s good because it’s profitable. it makes sense, although there have been issues with large corporations like Microsoft shit canning everyone at the first sign of a new sparkly thing. Game pass can be and is beneficial in a lot of cases, but what it takes to create something like game pass and it be profitable has its downsides for people that work in the industry, studios that have been bought and abandoned, and in turn the consumers.

I’m a bit very hammered, let me get back to you here in a little while. Spoiler, I did read some of your first paragraph and I’m pretty sure there’s a middle ground coming up.

Oooo, still not ready to respond, but I did read all of it. Hit me up if you’re trying to get your shit ran in that gears remaster, I’m pretty stoked about that all irony aside.

I am tryina drink some water and rest a little bit but I promise I’ll get back to this thread. I appreciate you talking it out.

That’s the exact problem that we’re talking about.

Being so shortsighted for this quarters numbers, while also not giving a shit about the only thing that actually brings you money.

The consumer.

This is failing because business doesn’t take that into account, and down the line it absolutely plays a part. Let’s keep focusing on milking these 4 “AAA” franchises, and also buy up as many independent studios as we can just to shut them down, that surely won’t have an effect on the industry.

The consumer is the whole godamn point. You don’t get profit without them. They (we) smell this bullshit, and it doesn’t smell good.

It’s not a long term strategy and it never was supposed to be.

Edit: anytime I say you, I just mean companies, not you, I think thats obvious, but I just want to point out I’m not coming at you

Your opinion is valid, but “AAA” studios have lit themselves on fire, and a shit ton of objectively great games have come out and absolutely dunked on them.

A great example of this is balatro. It’s none of what you described, it’s nowhere near your typical cash grab AAA and it’s just a good game that did extremely well.

Another example would be Hades, just a monster of a good game.

Blasphemous 1 & 2, unknown studio, fucking killed it.

Also if you prefer not AAA games for story, what actually is a AAA game?

That’s the solution homie, not the problem.

You don’t have to have an expensive PC, and even if you do, the amount you would save on software would far outweigh that cost in a year or less. And then every year after that, 6 bucks for 3 games dude

AAA vs AA vs whatever else never had anything to do with business aside from marketing, and marketing doesn’t mean shit for the consumer if the game sucks. Just make a good game.

Make the game, and the people will come.

AAA and AA haven’t meant shit in this industry for a long long time. It’s not even almost something I look for when looking for something new to play.

Oh that looks fun, but the budget just isn’t high enough for me, next.

I like how this prophecy was foretold a clean 1 week after this shit really went downhill. Who could’ve thunk Microsoft would be a shitty money grubbing whore?

Probably even more so if someone very high up in the executive branch did so as well

Yeah that death wall needs to slow down a little, either in when it first comes out, or just the speed of it. Once in, you’re not coming out with any heals at all if you even make it.

I have two friends and we’ve all be playing the souls games on and off for about 10 years, this game is hard and pretty different. It may just take getting used to, but without comms, it was rough random queuing. Us 3 in discord made significantly more progress, but it was absolutely a great time.

It made me include at least one none space character but it worked out I suppose

They did both, and it could find the next 5 GTA games for 500 years and still turn a profit if they never took another cent. Whatever this “journalism” is, delete it, block it, and forget about it. They are the enemy.

The further you get, the heavier the loss.

I can’t say it’s my favorite, but after checking out all of these games, I’m just gonna post one I think all you guys would love.

NOITA

Rivals was such a fun/approachable platform fighter. Still is

Scientists claim to have discovered a ‘new color’ no one has seen before.

This was especially funny to me because I actually read that article a few days ago, and it is as described in this photo

They took rocket league off steam. Well actually it’s on there, but the servers will not connect via Linux

They’re not making a flagship card like the 7900/(xtx) this go around. They’re targeting midrange

Holy shit, did apple finally invent the android app?

@kadup

So I think I was partially wrong about this one. I just threw my head against the wall for a good hour because I couldn’t get a package installed through dnf.

I don’t know what all this applies to, but I think it may be most things, using rpm-ostree in place of dnf and my install finally worked.

Leaving this here in case someone stumbles up on this while trying to install packages

Does anyone fucking know history? Like at all? How do these motherfuckers not know that it’s going to end badly whether they kiss his ass or not?

Ah okay, thanks for taking the time. That’s the answer I was after. That’s pretty crafty.

Huh, I did just skim through that but I didn’t see why you would want to bridge the connection, what exactly does bridging accomplish? Is it some sort of maintenance mode or something?

Lol wat

Can you please link me to where I can find this in action

Got a good laugh out of this, because I was very very close to typing nub originally.

It’s probably a good mix of both. Either way, I hope it tanks. It’s getting ridiculous

I wonder if it works like the Lenovo red dot mouse thing they’ve had on think pads for decades. Honestly, they shouldve just done that

They just keep saying shit like “what version are you on?” Motherfucker, the latest, and honestly, we know there isn’t a version where you fixed this problem thousands have been trying to solve for months and in a lot of cases years.

Idk how accurate this is, my boss had mentioned it, but apparently they’ve outsourced that shit to a third party, and they just keep opening tickets and solving them and keep asking you simple shit so they can bill per ticket solved. It’s a godamn mess. I’m just hoping Linux catches on enough to enter the corporate world at the user level.

We’re at a point where when something breaks, usually a Linux update fixes it, and it’s windows equivalent just keeps further breaking itself.

No, on bazzite because it’s a fedora distro

Edit: wasn’t trying to to come off as a dick, reread it and I could see it taken that way

Also I’m relatively new to Linux, so I’m sure with some things that may not be true, but 100% of what I’ve had to do has been either within discover, or I’ve followed pages on fedora to find out and it’s worked Everytime. Whatever bazzite installation you have whether it’s 38/39 etc, those line up with fedora versions as far as I’m aware.

It’s been solid for me. It’s the same or less amount of troubleshooting I’d have to do on windows, and I’m familiar with windows. Making windows work is my job. That coupled with the absolute mess that is windows support pages, bazzite has been good for me. Arch was pretty cool too, not nearly as bad as people said it was going to be, I just had an issue with audio I couldn’t figure out. I just wanted a works right now solution, and that’s what it’s been.

That’s why we got dem tar and dnf

And also that’s just not true. There’s also Space Cadet Pinball
