I’m exaggerating with the explicit ‘need’ word choice, but a quick glance at the specific dlc reviews of Sims 4, Monster Hunter World, and Destiny 2 should give you an idea of why I dislike the concept. Hell, you couldn’t even get a conclusion to one of the assassin’s creed narratives without the dlc and I personally find this revolting as someone that loves video games way too much. I know I’m basically just overzealous about the principle of these things, but I really believe we need more people taking more responsibility for the embarrassing precedents we’re creating

do you need dlcs for risk of rain 2? I don’t really like encouraging stuff like DLC’s if avoidable

Asking for a friend,
Who in that thumbnail?

So I know it’s confirmed false, but I wanted to take the opportunity to ask how you good folks stay in the know about critical/time sensitive compromises like this was believed to be?

Is this in anyway meaningful? Like will their computers stop working or will it force an update when they are least suspecting?
Just curious and am hoping to grab popcorn in the meantime

Someone explain the 10$ price that unlocks nothing and I also don’t have to…pay? Is it not just a donation request at this point? I promise I’m not looking to argue semantics, but how am I, as a user, supposed to see this as a transparent attempt at differentiating from big tech if we don’t call a spade a spade?

Either way, I like what they’re trying to do, but it all seems too ambitious to pay atm. If they are still fighting a worthwhile and virtuous fight in a year from now, I’ll pay double their ‘current price’
