Sadly not an option for console. I don’t own a PS5 currently but when I did own consoles I would trade games and buy used all the time, it’s a shame this might not be possible next generation.

Darn, I posted this earlier but sadly lemm.ee is having server issues. This’ll be the main thread, then.

Official Blog Post | PS5 Pro Reveal Trailer

The PS5 Pro console will be available this holiday at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $699.99 USD, £699.99 GBP, €799.99 EUR, and ¥119,980 JPY (includes tax). It will include a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller and a copy of Astro’s Playroom pre-installed in every PS5 Pro purchase. PS5 Pro is available as a disc-less console, with the option to purchase the currently available Disc Drive for PS5 separately.

The big question mark for me is that not only does it cost 800 euros, it does NOT come with a disc drive. There is no version of it with a disc drive like the PS5, you have to buy it as an accessory. I guess physical games really are going away.

For the record the devs said this game took eight years to make, and might’ve been pitched even earlier than that. I can’t imagine working on a project for a decade and releasing to… This.

And that wraps up the Xbox Games Showcase. Pretty good overall, I think.

Maybe they’ll get there eventually.

Unless they rework half the game’s mechanics from the ground up, I doubt it.

Seems like an interactive movie

This looks GOOD. A turn based RPG? Published by a AAA company that isn't japanese? I can't believe it.

They're still trying to make Starfield a thing

This isn’t the first 3D game they made though. They made Solar Ash before this, and it’s honestly quite underrated.

Senua's follow-up journey is the best exploration of mental health that we've seen in games to date, using incredibly striking visual imagery, metaphors and immersive soundscapes to have you feel right there next to her. In what has to be the most photo-realistic game of all time, you're guaranteed to be constantly taken by the hero's adventure as you take in the beautiful and often haunting Viking Iceland. Its pared-down elements might not be mechanically complex, but they give the story a momentum that makes it hard to put down. Ninja Theory tackles themes that are challenging and not often seen in games, with a backdrop that vacillates between the epic and the intimate. If we’re counting 100%ing, then yeah, Godhome can suck it. Path of pain alone was pushing me to the edge.

The same devs went on to make Vintage Story and finding copper there can also be a real pain. It’s kind of wild to hear their Minecraft mod having the same issue.

I actually had a similar experience with Hollow Knight where I had to stop playing for a while and when I picked it back up I forgot where I was and where I’m going, so I had to start all over. It was really worth it imo, because the end sections of the game are insanely cool. But I can understand not wanting to repeat ~10-20 hours again.

What’s your favorite game that you will NEVER finish?
This question popped into my head when I was playing Void Stranger. I just got *done* with the game and will probably never play it again despite not finishing it. The game is genuinely amazing but it just gets so demanding as you progress through it. I ended up watching the second half of the game on YouTube. What is your favorite game that you feel is really cool and special but you never felt the pull of actually finishing it, and why?

Not surprising considering there’s little to no competition in that price range. Pretty much every not-bad PC headset is $1000+, and heavy hitters like Valve Index haven’t had a hardware refresh in years.

There was also one string of Tweets in which many seniors from the Overwatch crew blamed Kotick for sabotaging the franchise and ruining Overwatch 2 with terrible decisions from higher up getting in the way of development. I really felt that one since I used to be an OW fan.

Everyone knew something was off when the game director which was extremely passionate (Jeff Kaplan) just straight up left the team after OW2 was announced. Really sucks, but at least we got some context.

Despite looking childish, Snakebird is actually a really good puzzle game that gets very difficult. I played it on my phone and would recommend picking it up.

Snakebird Complete is free to keep on Epic Games Store for 24 hours

Why would he sell the music rights to a publisher? He of all people should know to stay indie.

Were they though? After they fixed the drivers and used proper transition layers for directX they’re really decent entry-level cards.

It’s platinum in comparison to all games released in 2023 (new releases)

I'm really surprised Remnant 2 is platinum. I knew it was popular, but to be up there with the best selling AAA games is impressive.

Whew, I actually had this installed but haven’t played in a few weeks.

Quite sad, they published a few games I really enjoyed.

May I recommend No-one has to die? It’s a bite-sized webgame that I thought was really good, you can finish it in under an hour.

Also if you’re going to play steins;gate I would recommend skipping the sequel (steins;gate 0). It’s not good.

Is the DLC included or not? The title says it’s the Spacer’s Choice Edition but it’s also telling me the Spacer’s Choice Edition upgrade is $10

I wouldn’t mind an epilogue in God of War 3 that clears up what exactly happened before GoW 2018.

This is literally a bog standard privacy policy. Any closed source website or app you use will also track analytics and usage, and basic hardware info like I mentioned. You might as well go on a crusade against Steam for doing the same thing. You and people like you making these comments act like Epic, specifically, is bad for privacy as if nobody else has trackers. You’re misleading people.

Megaman Legends 2! It’s a bit dated but you may enjoy it.

Also shoutout to Delta gal which is a spiritual successor. Only a demo is available right now but what’s here is really good.

Literally the only data they can get is basic hardware info and your e-mail address which is easy to fake. You can even use an alternate launcher like Heroic and give them basically nothing. The point isn’t to “take people’s data”, they give away games to try to generate interest in EGS and get people to download it and spend money on the store. You lose nothing by redeeming the game.

Or you can take it for free and just not spend money on EGS? It’s not like taking it would be supporting them.

The game does look pretty good but I agree with the sentiment, nothing about this looks like Prince of Persia. It feels like they were working on a 2D metroidvania and decided to add the prince of persia name to it. I guess it does take place in a desert setting, but that’s about it.

Either way these events are pretty infrequent. There’s another one later today (Sony event), but after that you shouldn’t be seeing so many posts from me in the coming weeks.

This isn’t spam, there was a live event an hour ago that showed trailers back to back. I’m posting them as they were revealed.

g2a and similar websites are grey market websites. That means they’re not literally illegal, but most of their keys are usually gotten illegally. Sometimes (it’s rare, but it happens) people buy keys and they get revoked later if Steam confirms it was stolen. I wouldn’t use them at all if you care about giving the developers their money, you might as well pirate it.

Meanwhile there are legit websites like Fanatical that do sell cheap mystery keys. Most of them are shovelware they’re trying to get rid of, don’t bother.

Games with Gold literally gave you ownership of a game.

Did they? I was under the impression that the games you collect with Gold won’t start if your subscription runs out similar to PS+.

Just a $1 difference between getting 25 games and the entire game pass library? They really want to boost their subscriber counts huh.

Yeah, the links I’ve posted are Ruffle-powered.

Oh boy, unfortunately most Flash games aren’t playable on the web yet, else I’d be name-dropping like 200 games.

Everyone has to play Sonny 2 at some point. It’s a genuine masterpiece of turn based RPGs despite being a 14 year old flash game. The atmosphere is amazing. The music is banging. The build variety is immense.

All the blue elephant games like This is the only level and Achievement Unlocked are also classics. Many of them don’t work on Ruffle yet though.

No-one has to die is a story-driven choose your own adventure that’s surprisingly good.

I could go on and on but for a start you should all try these!

I’m sure it feels awesome with a Dualsense, I’ve heard a lot about the adaptivr triggers on this game. I’ve played it with an 8bitdo controller and the game was still pretty fun, the controls felt nice regardless.

I’ll have to check out Returnal, I’ve heard mixed reviews

The game had technical issues on release but they’ve since been resolved, I’ve played it recently and had no issues. It’s fun but pretty short so I’d buy it on sale.

Ahhh I remember the feeling of upgrading to a new GPU after ditching my 1050 earlier this year. Here’s some games that can stress test your new rig:

  • God of War
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • Returnal
  • Spider-Man Remastered
  • Control
  • Forza Horizon 5 or Dirt 5

Also while Elden Ring isn’t as demanding as technically impressive as other games it can look quite beautiful.

It’s really happening. I can already hear the rata tata tata tan…
