My conclusion: If you want a stable computer then you should disable Windows updates: https://www.sordum.org/9470/windows-update-blocker-v1-8/

It’s an OK game to play if you have literally nothing else available.

There are a bunch of free games on itch.io or Steam that are much better.

I like how you can still shoot your gun during the cutscenes

I remember playing this game as a kid with next to no english language skills. I had to start over many times because I barely knew what I was doing. But I found it fascinating nonetheless.

In Cyperpunk you can have any combination of genitals that you want.

The AI voice changer in Arc is a fun thing to have. I am glad it exists.

What’s up fellow video hater?

Let me make a wild guess - you are over the age of 35, am I correct?

Don’t get too exited. Maybe in a year or two all the bad has been patched out and it might become an actually good game.

I think it was an OK way to tell a new story with pre existing characters. These games had very little wiggle room because the end result was already dictated by the books.

Good write up. Gamers have always been idiots. The moment that opened my eyes was when I witnessed the Modern Warfare 2 “boycott” play out:

Imagine releasing a passion project, and then going on hatemail.com to check for constructive feedback.

Not saying that the developer is at fault here. But NOT going to twitter.com is the first step towards a happier life.

The services was not down because too many people tried to play it. If you frame it like that it sounds like the people are at fault here.

The service was down because the company was not properly prepared to actually provide the service that they promised.

I never play it, but I am aware that it has been around for a long time. And it always seems that people liked playing it.

What is it that changed that? Did they add monetarization?

Those dastardly reviewers, always reviewing games and stuff!

It does make sense, because “choice paralysis” is a thing that exists. So instead of choosing the game you want and playing it, you might spend more time looking for games to play than actually playing them.

Translations are a delicate issue. It is not enough to translate the original words to their most accurate counterparts, you have to convey the intention behind the words. Are you a native chinese speaker?

Streamers will not give you good user feedback. They are not playing the game for themselves, they are playing for an audience.

It is very good that you think about validating your expections early in the process. That way you still have time to change the direction of your game if you need to. I think the best way would be to release the demo to a smaller audience, like itch.io.

Anyway, good luck with your game.

Say what? Prey has a VR mode? I did not see anything about that on the Steam page

What specifically has gotten worse in the last years?

This screenshot is also slightly misleading since the color scheme suggests that 5 out of 5 games run better on SteamOS then on Windows. But if you check the numbers it is only 4 out of 5 games.

I loved their other stuff like “Quadrilateral Cowboy” and “Jazzpunk”.

For only 17€ this is an instant buy for me!
