Newness. I like a game that unfolds at a nice pace with moderate challenges. Games like Uncharted or Stray. I don’t like doing things over and over and over, so no to roguelikes or soulsborne games.
I’m even tired of open world games for the most part unless they reveal nicely and have good fast travel like Horizon. I didn’t finish the most recent GTA’s even, too much backtracking. I just want to be taken to a new place and see it unfold with some interesting but solvable challenges in between.
Yes it would be nice but there are many reasons I would want official versions of the best. First off, game companies have little financial incentive to make modding happen. Second, most mods don’t work on all platforms, such as consoles. Hopefully official versions would get wider release. Third, some financial incentives for modders, like the chance that they could sell their mod to add to the original title, would hopefully help the modding community.
I don’t mean the usual game company tactic of trying to extract money without adding value. I mean paying modders for their creations and then putting them out officially. I’d bet it would pretty much always be more profitable than doing it in house, and in most cases produce a better result. I mean, why don’t we have some beautiful next gen Skyrim from all the mods out there, or VR versions of most games- the mods are pretty good usually.
I thought PS5 and switch were some of the best selling consoles of all time? Just because they are in the later part of their generation now doesn’t change that.
No idea what the niche would be for this as there are already excellent looking e-ink displays which can play video in a pinch. Who’s going to go for a shittier looking one just for a higher refresh rate? I don’t think many gamers are looking for shitty looking black and white screens.
I’m confused by the part that says it’s not actual gameplay footage. Then it shows something that looks like the original. What are we looking at here?
