Might I suggest having a government/banking apps phone and a separate personal phone? Is this feasible for you? I don’t really have government apps, my separate flip phone is just for calling and 2fa sms messages

That’s still good isn’t it? At worst you’re getting on par performance, at best it’s better

Probably half life. It’s kinda intentionally tricky and meant to be some kind of puzzle

I think the librem phone or something was american made

It’s easier to use and more polished. Also, not federated or decentralized. Although you can self host it

Fairephone is European but they’re made in china

You could achieve the exact same with a steam Deck with emulation and buying a few more controllers

Yes kinda. But if you buy the cheapest iphone and just use it until eol, it’s not too bad. Problem is the cheapest iphone, isn’t too cheap anymore.

Google just doesn’t understand that they’re killing off the only people who want to buy their shitting products. How many people use Androids? How many people use Pixels? I would feel most people want these phones because we’re tech savvy people who don’t want the abstracted stuff Apple sells.

It’s mainly used for a media/gaming laptop/console for the living room. Something I don’t wanna tinker with at all and to just set and forget.

Definitely, but bazziteos is catered to more new people or people who don’t want to spend a lot of time getting stuff to work. I use arch on two computers and have bazzite on another computer I know I want to be more stable than arch and not spend time fixing it

That’s what I initially thought too, but as soon as you install it, it gives you the option to install Steam, lutris, Wine, and some other gamer stuff. It basically feels similar to Windows people know and has been stable for me.

Sure, you can use vanilla Fedora and put all of the stuff yourself but the point of this is it’s ready to go out of the box.

I have bazzite on my laptop since I was too lazy to set up arch, fedora, debian, etc for gaming. It’s ready to play installed with steam and everything.

This is most prevalent on androids, even stock pixel. As much as I like to shit on apple, they have less bloat on your phone. Of course whatever native app you have on there, you wouldn’t able to delete, whereas on android you could delete it if you really wanted to.

I don’t see why it can’t download each map individually. Like say you only fly in los angeles, it downloads only los angeles. Maybe it will still be a lot of data and you got a point.

I think apex legends is still one of the highest concurrent player games on Steam. I think top is like csgo, apex legends, rust, maybe deadlock? I haven’t been online in a while but this is probably how it is based the last time I checked.

Surprised someone hasn’t made one yet

Edit: someone developed it but nobody is hosting it lol. I would host it but my server is broken right now.

It’s a sub on Sopuli.xyz. You can still subscribe to it on your own instance since we’re all federated.

Something along those lines. Also they might’ve gotten rid of the sim tray. Camera might’ve been better?

I think the demographic is slightly different. The people buying consoles might know more about what they’re buying and do some research about it. Whereas the newest iphone getting released all the normies will flood to it and get the newest shiny apple product after they hear about its release.

Why I’m not getting a Fairphone*
A couple hours before I was on the edge of getting a Fairphone 5 but I read the specifications and didn't see 3.5 mm audio jack anywhere. So I thought to myself...why? The community has been requesting this for a couple years ago now so why not. They're already making money on the phone, they're really pushing for people to get their wireless headphones? Just add the headphone jack, shouldn't be too hard. They said they're treating their workers fairly, sourcing from ethical sources, renewable claims, repairability claims, and supporting foss projects (they donated a fp4 to CalyxOS to support development). All of these are amazing, so adding a little headphone jack shouldn't be that hard in the grand scheme of all this. *Add the headphone jack and I'll be happy to support and get a fp5. https://calyxos.org/news/2022/02/25/device-support/ https://shop.fairphone.com/fairphone-5
