Maybe it’s just me but I’m surprised that Apple isn’t taking more of a stance regarding EU’s new regulation on smartphone batteries, especially considering how greenwashing-loving and anti-repair Apple is.
Quite mixed on the idea of foldable phones.
On one hand, they’re pretty cool and I especially the Z Flip/razr format for its nod to the flip phone era and the portability.
On the other, their durability is er…questionable and there’s no telling if the screen will last as long as that of traditional smartphone’s. Oh and plastic screen means scratch galore, too.
Also good idea with these post mods, I see a lot of high quality comment here! It’s starting to feel like the Reddit of old times here, well without the toxicity I suppose.
I haven’t noticed any toxicity on the lemdro.id instance at all, what am I missing lol?
Smart Launcher for me. I’ve been using it since the Smart Launcher 3 days, and it’s really still a launcher with no-nonsense UI that doesn’t change a lot, for example you can still modify it to feel just like SL3 with the left side app menu and gestures. Plus the design language used in SL6 is just beautiful to me.
Liked it so much I bought the pro version of SL3 and later on, get the full license for SL5 (and onwards).**
Looking back at HMD’s models after 2020 I think this is pretty plausible, with how all their smartphones during this period are likely ODM model - you can tell with how they all use the same Unisoc or MediaTek SoCs.
I mean, only smartphones that are outsourced to Chinese ODMs would ever use these chips, you’ll see this with other brands too.
Perhaps zombie brand mode would also be a suitable term, if not for the recent Skyline and Fusion which feels like genuine efforts from HMD.
