I wish.

Send one of these guys by my place. I’ll show them what 8GB can not do…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but platforms like GOG and Humble Bundle often provide the actual DRM free software which can be installedd independently of their platform and license.

Steam and Epic are not like that. Steam typically requires us to use its launcher to play games, as they are tied to our Steam accounts. Epic sometimes actually allows one to directly access the game files. Of course, the level of DRM can vary depending on the specific game and developer.

To be fair, the same is true of Steam, even with purchased games. We don’t own anything but a licence.

Conclusion: GOG > Steam/Epic

Here’s an argument for Epic: Their international pricing is WAY better than Steam’s. By what I gather, Epic is the go-to for many who live in low-income countries.

On the other side, their app still lags behind Steam by miles. For whatever unknown reason.

Steam runs pretty smooth on Linux. Am currently using OpenSuse. Steam runs smooth. Games run smooth with one or two exceptions. For those exceptions I have a dual boot Windows 10 that doesn’t need Windows Update for anything I ask it to do.

Wish it would come to GOG.

I guess eventually…

They could use some more engagement, but they’re a pleasant bunch. AFAIK.

One if my saddest game related moments this year: The release of Homeworld 3.

This video sums it all up well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuonl50R6Eo

Allow me to do this one more time:

sigh

RIP Homeworld 3… you could have been amazing.

Which “Don’t Starve” expansion should I buy (first)?
How would you rank the DLCs? Is there a huge difference in your ranking when rating multiplayer or single player?

What is your most stressful, hectic and panic-inducing base-building game?
There are those that help us relax, chill, and unwind. And then there are the others. Which one stresses you out like no other?

Installed it. Liking it. Indeed beautifully designed.

There’s a lot going on and much data to be seen. Nice! Not airways easy to quickly see what I am looking for, but that might be just me not being used to it. Has a bit to catch up to meet the features of Breezy Weather, but I don’t expect that from a new so and you have SO much potential here!

Am I missing the dew point or is that not implemented yet?

The animations might be a tad slow, though beautiful to look at.

Can’t say much more. Will use Overmorrow (fantastic name!) for sure to test it more and see where it goes.

Thank you. Awesome job!

Not in this case, seeing that progress is stored online.

Who says that the game you care about tomorrow won’t do this next? Why be against an action/not care about something that can only benefit players now and in the long term?

I generally agree.

Nonetheless, Vivaldi does outclass the clones.

Blaming the player goes a bit far, true.

That said, the sad truth is that companies only react when it affects their bottom line.

Digital “ownership”.

Ubisoft is determined to take things one step further to stamp out any attempts to continue playing it past its expiry date.

SVN is still awesome and in some ways superior to 2024 solutions. It also excels at some things more than others, just as GIT.

On the “but it’s old” thought: Dropbox is a 2007 solution which still lives in 2024, thus living many years. Like Subversion. Oh, and GIT was created in 2005. So…

Don’t have the time to detail that now myself, but here’s two articles for those who are looking for more than a personal opinion on the topic:

OK, that’s fair.

Fairbuds. The most important reason I will not support this model. Forcing me into their ecosystem by removing the headphone jack should not be what this company stands for. It is literally against their philosophy.

Bring back the jack.

If they do, we are talking again.
