We are talking about quality of writing fiction. There’s nothing wrong with being an amateur, but being rude when a professional has a higher skill cap than you is just kind of sad. This man has likely honed his craft over 10s of thousands of hours, respect that. You’ve basically told me that when you see someone just beginning to practice a skill you have honed you can’t tell a difference, or you lack the ability to transfer that concept to a skill you are unpracticed in. If you feel that this is still hard to understand, try reading the Eragon series then LotR. Both fun reads, but you can tell that one was written by someone early in their writing carrier vs later.

That’s the difference between an amateur writer and a professional writer.

I wasn’t even talking about SW here, just how fan is used these days. I’m not and never was part of the SW fanbase, but from what I’ve seen from the outside that’s because all the legitimate criticisms were ignored years ago and everyone that cared moved on from the new corporately-stoked toxic fanbase.

I hate how fan now means mindless consumer these days and any reflecting on the criticisms of a series means you’re somehow excluded from being a fan.

It has gotten much better in the last 7 years. I will say that I usually test 1.5× or 2× my resolution if possible, which can to be less taxing depending on the engine, as I’m always trying to eek out a little extra on my 970.

I was talking about other frame important games, not FPS. I’m talking about games with rollback and no more than a frame or 2 difference.

I see… but isn’t virtually all of the pathfinding deterministic based on the seed + inputs of up to 4 people? How would it be more difficult than fighting game rollback, where you have 2-4 players that need to have sub 2frame accuracy?
