There needs to be some sort of EU directive that once a hardware device sells enough units they MUST provide the equivalent software features and functions available on windows for Linux, and not just a plain driver with no config options.
Imagine being able to buy hardware knowing you can configure it in Linux without relying on some unsupported thing made by the community.
Just from an environmental standpoint anything that reduces the expansion of AI farms is desirable.
Giving LLMs a free pass on abusing copyright and fair use rules is such a double standard. YouTubers who use a snippet of music get the earnings from their video stolen by rights trolls.
For me, the dream is every AI result coming with a citation list showing what sources were used.
That’s the intended goal of big tech AI orgs. AI is a weapon and is sold to governments using fear as the key motivator. It is the same as any other weapons manufacturer. The military budget has few constraints and corporations know this. AI won’t fail. Governments will make sure of it because they will be dependent on it, just likes all other weapons.
