The fucked up thing is that no matter how bad and disappointing Starfield was, and no matter how bad and disappointing their subsequent games will be, I’ll still buy and be naively excited for Elder Scrolls VI because Skyrim was such a foundational gaming experience 😩

Larian is pretty supportive of the modding community too, right? I’ll probably end up getting it on PC for that very reason.

I think it will hold up for a long time as people (like me) wait for the price to come down after a couple years.

Feels like this guy overheard a conversation about what mods are at a crowded buffalo wild wings in cleveland eight years ago and never researched the topic further, assuming they know everything they could possibly need to know

Square Enix literally has this in FFXIV and it’s half of what Blizzard wants for their mount ($42 USD). And at least the FFXIV whale mount has in-world lore history and isn’t just an overt cash grab.

I’ve heard a lot about Heroic but honestly never looked into it. Not that I’m old or anything but it reminds me of Trillian from back in the day.

That makes sense. Sounds like more of an Epic Games thing than specifically an anti-games launcher sentiment, or maybe a little of both? I hadn’t heard about the crowd funded game exclusivity thing though, I’ll have to read up on that. Deeply lame thing for them to do, for sure.

I hope it’s okay to ask, because I am being genuine, but why is using the Epic Games Launcher such a deal breaker for you? I have Steam, Epic, Ubisoft, Xbox, Battle.net and I’m sure more that I’m forgetting and I honestly don’t mind at all. It’s never been an issue for me but I think that I’m in the minority on that so I was curious to hear your thoughts.

“I don’t personally like their games so I hope all of the hundreds of employees working on them lose their jobs and their families are devastated by life changing hardship”

I think you missed the exit for Reddit, it was back there a ways.

It feels like every day there’s a new development that somehow makes the developer look worse than they already did smh

Edit: I will say, drama aside, I do genuinely feel sick to my stomach for the people like yourself who have invested time and money and heartache in this game only for the developers to treat you like this. It’s such a shitty situation.

As a non-Tarkov player I have to say I’ve been loving the drama of this story. I’m able to watch a good v evil story unfold in front of my eyes with zero stakes.

lol raycasting isn’t optimized for server side deployment, it would increase the poly count of the mesh tenfold, which would in turn increase average ping and fps. Couple that with the client side rendering problem and I don’t know anything about development just kidding
