The default messaging apps on iPhone is iMessage. It’s locked down and can not communicate with any other messaging app except via SMS. Therefore the other apps have to use it to communicate with iPhone users, who you will never, ever convince to download a third party messaging app

One other thing is that none of the third party messaging apps can even use SMS. iOS is designed so that only Apple can use SMS.

If you read the article, they usually just shut down and disappear.

If you’re lucky some dedicated archivist records the story sections before it goes down.

I don’t have to play any mobile F2P gacha games, in order to know that they’re trash.

This is confusing knowledge with bias.
It sounds more like you’re prejudiced against such games so you assume they’re all trash.

people still lose access to Minecraft for what they do in private worlds that are “friends only.”

The chat reporting help page also lays out that reports must be initiated by a player and will be reviewed by the moderation, which should hopefully limit the false-report problems sometimes associated with more automated moderation systems.

If that happens I guess your ‘friend’ reported you.

It’s in the system requirements but even games that list an SSD as required there still sometimes work fine on a hard disk.

Steam controller support is so far ahead of everybody else I find myself launching other games/launchers through Steam just to get it.

Tried to get my controller to register in Jedi Fallen Order and the solution was not to add the game but the EA launcher itself as non-steam game.

non-Valve games were starting to depend on having Steam installed

The problem was/is their policy of allowing the non-Valve games to also require their own storefront launcher alongside Steam.

There was that one dark period of “Games For Windows Live” on Steam, but those issues are pretty rare nowadays.

Just cause you paid for something doesn’t mean it’ll be on their servers forever.

The concept of ‘buy’ is nebulous when it’s something you can’t hold in your hands.

If you want the in-depth customization that only flashing from the boot loader level allows, you’ll want to prioritize phones that allow that.

Pixel is usually on the top of most people’s heads because even if other phones can have their boot loader unlocked, actual support is a crap shoot.

“We are sorry for the fact that the game didn’t meet the expectations of the majority of the players,” reads a statement from Mytona, noting it’s an investor in the game.

“Today we will work with Steam to open up refunds for any players who choose to make a refund. We’re in contact with Fntastic regarding the future of the game.”

Answer to those who ask for a refund. Mytona and we’re currently working with Steam to allow refunds for any player who chooses to request one, regardless of game time. Fntastic received $0 and will receive nothing from The Day Before sales.

It depends on the game but I’m surprised how well some games run.
Steam Deck got me playing games on MicroSD which is really where you feel the pain.

There’s basically no comparison between the bloatware on Samsung and Pixel.
I felt most annoying prompts and notifications with the Pixel were solvable where Samsung is a constant battle.

And then the alarms don’t seem to go off reliably.

The fast start up option actually should still be under power options, though not really intuitive or easy to find.
Look for the part that says “Choose what the power buttons do” and it should be there.

I tend to just turn hibernation all off because I don’t really use it, and I’d typically rather have the space hiberfil.sys takes up.

If you want to turn off hibernation for good you can do so with an elevated prompt.

powercfg.exe /hibernate off

Otherwise you want to turn off fast start up, which should avoid the hibernation/shutdown you’re talking about.

It’s not like many (any?) other games, not in the mainstream sphere anyway.
I made the mistake of trying to play with mouse and keyboard but once I got flying with a controller I was set.

These sort of dongles that let you use a controller with other devices are great.
I own an old xbox 360-era arcade stick and it has greatly extended the life and use of it.

If you asked other folks they’d probably tell you that “the game only starts at max level with fully built out gear.”

You’ll always find groups of people min-maxing but in my guild the general philosophy was to enjoy the journey.

If that meant getting drunk and causing shenanigans in town that day, so be it.

Professional players should all be using the same hardware and software configuration

This would be a serious challenge in real-life and basically impossible online.
You’re bound to encounter minor model differences unless you spend dramatically more on hardware.

It sounds like you needed to log one character into the wrong server and disconnect/reconnect the internet at the right time, so it seems pretty unlikely anybody banned actually did this unintentionally.
There isn’t really much need to rollback every innocent player if the exploited stuff is relatively traceable.

There’s not usually much complaint when it happens to other games but at 122 GB I think it qualifies as one of the largest PC games ever released.

Give Up the Ghost - https://gate.itch.io/ghost

I’ve wanted to go back and beat this puzzle game, because it’s quite excellent.
There’s some proper rot13 hints in the comments by the creator.

If you want a list of wild games I can recommend Warp Door - https://warpdoor.com/
I try to stay away from there.
