I also have a tablet, samung one with a snaodragon chio that last me 2-3 weeks with same background tasks ( I use it to sometimes watch anime/read manga ).

I don’t see why a tablet shoukd be able to have that much battery life comoared to my phone.

And once again, fixing the battery won’t fix the overheating issues that led to battery degradation in the long run.

The exynos chip in this damn phone rans far too hot, the amount of times it heats up in my pocket doing nothing is far too common.

On another note I’m not technical enough to use an ifixit kit.

I live in croatia, and I did overexagarate the price a lot, but it’s still an issuse to me since closests phone repair bussiness to me about 110km away, I don’t exactly have a repair shop in the neighbourhood.

And even if I fixed the battery the overheating issues won’t get fixed.

Warranty replacements here are a very long process that last at minimum 2 weeks up to 2-3 months, which leaves me without a phone for that time, and I don’t have a replacement in the meantime.

The battery degraded in matter of a month to this current point, I just didn’t wanna bother with replacing it knowing that I eill have to do it every few months.

Replacing and buying a new battery here costs about 500 euro while a new s24 costs 650 euro.

Ifixit doesn’t do shipping to here last time I looked and thirt party reselers shipping will cost at minimum a 100 euro, isn’t worth it.

On the car tires point, do the car tires degrade after a couple months? No, they can last multiple years.

Yea, most chinese phones would. Also what I mean by “smaller screen” is something around the size of the s24 so 6-7 inches.

Looking for phone to replace my S24 with
Now before anybody starts about S24 having being a great phone and amazing performance, ... I own the exynos chip version ( I live in the EU ) and the heating issues and battery draw is disqusting. I have had it for a little over a year and the battery will go from 78% at 1pm when starting afternoon shift to 24% at 10pm after finishing my shift. It used to last 2-3 days with my usage, nowdays it can't go over half a day with me not touching it ( I have syncthing running and tasker to disable/enable syncthing depending on conditions. And home assistant to look up automations that I have configured to use the least amount of sensors as possible ). All I need in a phone is good battery life ( atleast a day with syncthing/tasker and home assistant running in the background ), smaller sized screen with an oled/amoled display ( I tend to read manga and webtoons on my phone ) and possibly a snapdragon chip for occasional pc game emulation ( indie games ) using fex/gamenative. EDIT: The main problem I have with the phone isn't the battery life, it's the overheating issues that made the battery life to degrade rapidly that I have the issue with.

I just buy where a game I want is on the lowest sale at the moment, but still check if a game is properly updated on gog first, since some games haven’t been updated in a long time on gog.

Tho I try and mostly focus on old games not on steam anymore or indie titles are are updated on parity with the windows release, otherwise I prefer steam, also cause I own a legion go with bazzite installed so it’s easier to play games like that.

Depends on your pc specs. For me it runs worse than on my ps4.

If you ask me, if done correctly it’s very satisfying when parying, feels like a rhythm game.

Hi-fi rush, bulletstorm full clip edition and dead cells ( or atleast got the “ending” ).

Also god of war 2018 on my ps4, just remembered it.

Agree, hi-fi rush is the only game released in last tei years that I actually finished, and enjoyed doing so.

Don’t want them milking it for no reason, plus don’t see a need for a sequel.

Got 20 euro, what game/games to get on steam autumn sale?
Hello, I got 20 euro to spend on the autunm sale, so wanted to ask what games you would recommend to get. Any kind of game work's of any kind of game work's up ti 20 euro. You can reccommend one amazing game for 20 euro, or multiple small addctivie indie titles for up to 20 euro, anything goes. Looking forward to check out your recommendations.

Bulletstorm full clip edition.

Really fun shooter with an interesting scoring mechanic.

Literally the reason I downloaded and played the game yesterday.

Really loving it, makes my 400 hours in osu somewhat worth it.

Also run’s beautifully on linux.

I bought it on gog couple days back, can run it and play but mouse look has problems where looking with the mouse leaves it locked either to bottom or top, in general eratic mouse movements.

You experiencing this also or you didn’t experience this bug?

Do I seem like I can see your face whike you are making this post and realize it’s a joke?

Yea it’s really amazing

Sorry if I made you feel that way.

I selfhost audiobookshelf for all my podcast needs.

I just almost finished yakuza 0 yesterday, got stuck on the last fight, so will play some sleeping dogs in the meantime until I g3met the will to retry the fight for the 70th times ( I’m playing on the hard difficulty )

Unexpected keyboard also, never liked swyping to type, autosuggestion and things like that.

Also this is on cold when I just woke so my wpm is usually a but faster than this on mobile, while I have 100-110 on average on pc with regular qwerty.

Too bad I live in the tech shithole called croatia where fairphones are even rarer then pixel’s here.

Just because someone own’s something doesn’t mean they themself were able to afford it, or it was available to them. That argument doesn’t fly just like that.

Maybe they got it as a gift, on a giveaway, from a cousin who got a new one, …

It’s too simple to think that just because someone own’s something they got it themself, unless specified otherwise.

Thats nice, but google doesn’t sell them here like I said, we only have them on resellers sometimes. For example there is pixel 6 pro here sold for 600+ euro on a reseller, while there is no other pixel available rn in the country at all.

That’s all fine and dandy, but when it outright doesn’t have features you wan’t, and costs in most cases double your wage it just doesn’t pay off.

Depends on your usecase and your country of living. Why do I say so? I will name my 2 points:

  1. Lack of sd card. Yes I need my sd card, I don’t want to upload stuff online on a 400kbps connection or download on a 16mbps connection. It’s not a good experience.

  2. Not officially sold in my country, only available rarelly in resellers for 200+ euro more than normally.

Only take note from official lineage os site on compatibility.

You could try divest os or /e/ project.

You could also try getting stock android on the device which doesn’t have any google services ( android by itself is free and open source after all.

Should be the recovery mode of your phone, like I said there is another comment telling you everything you need to do to fix this issue so would like for you to read it.

The link of the comment: https://lemmy.pt/comment/3835450

All you need to do then is to reinstall the system if you can access the bios, I have seen there is another comment that names you the steps needed so please reffer to it.

I mean the devices bios.

After installing everything worked correctly, or you didn’t use it till today and just realised it didn’t work?

If you used the device for some time nad it just now started to give you problems, did you have any updates or have done or deleted anything?

Can you enter the bios?

is that a new install you can’t access or an older one?
