I use this pin feature when I give my phone to my kids. They can only use the pinned app and nothing else.

You’re right. This came handy when my phone’s screen broke and the touch sensor didn’t work. With USB mouse and keyboard, I could make a backup.

(Bluetooth would have worked too, if the devices are already paired).

Android has support for keyboards. Both USB and Bluetooth keyboards work well and can be used for longer typing.

I don’t think these two games can be reasonably compared. HL2 is currently free, while concord was a paid game.

I’ve started Cyberpunk 2077 recently. Runs pretty flawlessly now with patch 2.x, I’m glad that I waited a few years

You could go for the 8600G/8700G APUs without a graphics card. This should give you better performance than the Steam Deck and the option to later add a graphics card.

I’ve added a screenshot of a german shop that sells these for 649€ without operating system:

I did not find any pre-built PCs with this CPU, that’s why I’m referring to this shop that does the assembly for the customer.

The linked essay is quite long and (at least for me) hard to read. One of the first links in the article is to this patreon blog post, that summarizes the issue well.

As we first announced last year, Apple is requiring that Patreon use their in-app purchasing system and remove all other billing systems from the Patreon iOS app by November 2024.

This has two major consequences for creators:

  1. Apple will be applying their 30% App Store fee to all new memberships purchased in the Patreon iOS app, in addition to anything bought in your Patreon shop.
  2. Any creator currently on first-of-the-month or per-creation billing plans will have to switch over to subscription billing to continue earning in the iOS app, because that’s the only billing type Apple’s in-app purchase system supports.

Before we go any further, we want to be crystal clear about one thing: Apple’s fee will not impact your existing members. It will only affect new memberships purchased in the iOS app from November onward.

The 100mb/sec are becoming a bottleneck for some use cases, but the capacity is awesome.
