Gothic (2001). Still a really cool game!

But can you just download and play it on Linux via Steam/Proton or do you need to install their launcher?

Hey hey, some of us here are hoping for the 2060s and 70s to still be nice enough!

Yeah, absolutely. Just for me, this feels like a typical AA game. Indie is more like Noita, Mouthwashing or Vampire Survivors. But you are right, there are no definitive borders or anything.

I don’t know about that. I am saying, that I wouldn’t count It Takes Two as an indie title.

Tomb Raider (2013). Played it once for a few hours with a friend on PS4, but we never had following sessions. So now I bought it in a bundle with TR 1-3 and play the first reboot game after finishing the remaster of the 1997 title (also for the first time) last week.

I don’t want to use Windows, but play on my Linux Gaming PC. This works really nice because of the work, Valve does on Proton and gives back to Wine. GoG is cool, but they don’t help in regards to this. The Epic fucks (hehe) are actually hostile towards Linux, so before I would buy there, I would pirate their games or just not play the game at all.

When the Steam enshittification starts, I will be one of the first to say fuck them, too.

One of those features is Proton. Thanks to Steam I can play every game I am interested in, without the need to install Windows.

GoG sometimes pushes out Linux installers that they immediately stop supporting, resulting in non-working games. Fuck that.

So you know that really neat trick, where you don’t buy the newest games and you can get most of them for a few bucks?

After the tutorial area the game opens up and becomes really great. A bit like with The Last of Us which had some really bad first hours.

I really like my PC, but it is the absolute worst, that you cannot buy disc versions for PC anymore, like for consoles.

If you are willing to, you can sell some discs for the same amount you spent before. Especially price stable games like Fromsoft titles.

Ducky One 3 TKL + Logitech G305 or the 8BitDo Pro 2, depending on the genre.

Too bad. Hey, crazy idea: let’s create an open alternative for reddit with good content! Maybe something in the fediverse or so.

Yeah, it runs on Linux. After the last update, my PC transformed a bit into a heat pump, though.

For me, as a vegan Linux user, who really doesn’t like the concept of the Jedi sect, this sounds like a compliment.
