The CEOs are all professional fall guys/girls at this point. Get the names of the shareholders /board members calling the shots and put them on blast, then avoid anything they touch.
Unity’s Chairman of the Board is Roelof Botha, basically a mini musk.
He also sits on the boards of MongoDB, Evernote, Bird, Ethos, Natera, Square, and Xoom - in case you want to know what he might shit up next.
Small businesses using Square are probably the likely target
Eh it has so much more production wise than journey though… I love journey, it’s a one of a kind play experience… but everything is minimalistic. Stray is the opposite so chucking them another 15 bucks to cover character design and animation, level design, voice acting, etc doesn’t feel too bad to me
oh my boss felt entitled to this recently
they point blank told me they needed me in the office because ‘they owned the building’ (read: they think they are entitled to use their employees time and resources to prop up the value of their commercial real estate)
they also spent the time during the pandemic installing a giant paid cafeteria, so they were hoping to capture some of that lunch revenue I mentioned for themselves, or the company they sub-contracted with
(yes, I did quit, get a new job, and a raise)
I work remote and do see that money. Let me explain how:
I save money on car maintenance, gas, and business attire.
I save money on food by eating at home or eating in my neighborhood instead, which adds value to my neighborhood and creates businesses in my neighborhood instead of my bosses
I save roughly 2 hours of getting ready / commute time per day, and time is money.
What’s wild is that my boss ever felt entitled to all of that for their benefit.
Yeah I think that was the first game I ever played by this developer. Love their style. I mustve just been busy or strapped for cash when Transistor hit. Then when I saw it go onsale before I thought it looked a bit like a bastion clone, so didnt pull the trigger. Thanks for tipping me over into buying it!
I am tempted to buy transistor - is it pretty similar to Bastion? Pyre was amazing, but Im not sure if I need another straight forward RPG style game. Does it have some kind of unique hook?
Into the Breach, Talos Principal, and Ori also look interesting. Although they’re all slightly different than things I usually play so not sure.
in what way is buying a competitor not inherently anti-competitive?
If someone has a history of anti-competitive behavior, preventing them from buying competitors is perfectly logical
