Apparently you’re not super mad about Skyrim having bugs in 2012 because that was just so unforgivable I’m still mad about it /s
Sadly while I’m sarcastic here this is literally the truth for a lot of people. PS I played Skyrim like 200 hours and saw irritating bugs maybe like 3 times. It didn’t really bother or deter me from playing in any way.
The haters of Bethesda games clearly have never written code. What they are doing in these games is honestly mind-blowing that it could be done so well that the games are actually playable
I made a list of the Google services I needed to replace, replaced a couple of them, but ultimately that list had dozens of items on it and I’m too tired already to complete it
It is not easy. This comment must be satire?
For example have you tried navigating in a car with a navigation app besides Maps? I don’t have an iPhone and the ones I’ve tried so far suck. I mean, I think Waze isn’t even all that good and Google owns even them now.
Who’s angry?
Your moronic ass obviously is
There’s a reason Nintendo leans hard into simple physics and extremely arcade style sports games, and it’s not just to be more accessible to casual fans. It’s because it’s literally all the hardware can do.
Yeah when they chose the type of games they’d be known for in the 80’s, it sure was specifically because their crystal ball told them:
They chose that hardware because Nvidia was offloading it dirt cheap, so they could make big margins on it.
You’re too stupid to spend another moment on
Yes in a world that expects hardware to always get better and software to always be written sloppily and/or assuming those constant improvements I guess it makes sense to be angry at one of the greatest game consoles ever created
Remember when games used a few KB of memory and they did smart things to make that work? No you probably don’t because you’d be angered by that hardware’s existence
I am just annoyed when people say the switch hardware is shit. It’s not shit, it’s just a completely different approach, that’s all. Also it’s annoying you’re using one of the shittiest ports ever to push this idea. They could have built this game from the ground up for switch and had something that looked and ran good. But that wasn’t their plan. The plan was a half assed port.
Are you me? Very close to how I would have written the exact same thoughts!
I tried a slew of lemmy apps but none were are clean and smooth as what I wanted. Connect has some rough edges but visually and features wise is closest to what I want. I’m hoping boost is very similar to how it was on reddit because it struck all the right balances for me, and felt more solid than connect. Plus the icon is way better than connect’s. :)
I tried sync and I don’t get the hype. It’s fine, I’d use it if I didn’t have other options. But for me the UI is just like 15% too busy. It’s just annoying enough to deter me from it.
I’m just going by the sustained use of “bullying”. If I had my way, I’d use signal with everyone, but I’m not going to ask 20 people to change for me whether it’s superior or not.
Besides, I am much more of an idealist than that – I see using a proprietary solution as just a bandaid even if I was up for doing the “bullying”. The real solution is a decent standard for mobile texting. I think it’s coming, largely due to the EU forcing apple to stop being annoying. In the meantime I’ll just use WhatsApp when I have to and sms otherwise. Besides, there’s usually no need for me outside of crappy photo res to use anything more than SMS, and in those cases email is easy and standard enough even for my mother.
I look forward to that standard because that would mean I can choose a better app and all my contacts can too if they choose, but it would be optional. Imo that’s absolutely the way it should be.
I think I sort of see your perspective after this last message. Thanks for sending that and not being as annoyed as a standard Redditor would have been.
At least you know you’re a bully but otherwise I can’t agree with a word of this. I’m not bullying my mom into using an app because her photos are shitty res. It’s rude and pointless. It won’t work. Also if it did I’d still be an asshole but an asshole providing tech support for a new thing. Being a bully is a bad thing fyi
You’re entirely missing the point. Communication systems ought to be standardized and mostly has been. You’re acting like you can magically install apps on your relatives and friends phones if you want to.
I have zero fear of installing incredibly custom software and honestly do so most days…
Not sure how someone this intelligent can so easily get lost on the idea that communication happens on a network, not on one device, and therefore standards help interoperability… It’s sort of bizarre
You just listed mostly things that already exist with sms or should exist as a standard and some of them, Google has tried with RCS but companies like apple actively refuses adoption. Yeah, you can install apps but ideally you’d not be required to, it would be a choice. Sending a text message ought to be a standard process. This is a lot of hate for the idea of standards dude.
Yeah, again you’re advocating for Google to be more like apple. The fact that shitty phones are allowed to exist is definitely a positive thing. Because that allows choice. Just do your research and don’t buy that shitty one to begin with. Unless it’s all you can afford, in which case, it probably costs less than a third of the cheapest iPhone.
With this kind of reductionism, I wouldn’t trust your code.
