This sounds to me like it’s in line with the argument against space exploration where we shouldn’t explore space when we’ve got problems here on Earth (unless I’m missing something).

Quite a few innovations happen tangentially to what the researchers were trying to do, I personally like the idea of ppl exploring new ideas regardless if they’re helping our immediate problems.

Works for steam tho Edit: apparently Ubisoft wanted subscriptions, so steam isn’t exactly comparable

There’s good free multiplayer games (e.g. delat force, marvel rivals, deadlock)

Unless you mean single-player

Watch Dogs 2, didn’t really like it, but it’s probably fun on a steam deck on a flight I’d bet

I think the department that protects consumers isn’t busy with wars

At this point I’m afraid only government intervention would help (with citizens asking it to do so)

I think that today the prevention takes some effort and time to learn. In my personal experience people are mostly oblivious/shrug off the data mining, not thinking about the consequences (“what can they possibly do with this data?”).

I’d argue awareness is a big factor still

Games can help people talk about issues, bridging the communication barrier to some topics. Can’t believe they managed to explain the issue in 2 mins lol.

I thought it was a flop, but the reviews are positive

I can see how that’s a bug that it got released if the intended purpose was to do a POC and gauge the reaction from some internal testers.

But even then they were POC-ing that, which is terrible

Doesn’t seem targeted at you, they’re making a good point

Are you saying that the GSM frequencies used in the US are not supported by Fairphone hw?

I know there are CDMA and GSM telkom companies but I assumed the re are plenty of common frequencies
