I had a free ProtonMail account I haven’t been using, so I’ll have to pick it back up. I did manage after a few attempts to properly configure Thunderbird, at least for my mail. Couldn’t get it up and running on the Calendar side.

I wouldn’t shoot you, but I’d turn the other way if someone uh…led you on a poorly chosen hike. 😆

I can concur the Pixel 8 Pro has honestly been pretty good, for whatever it’s worth. Granted I’m not in the EU, so I don’t get the benefits of GDPR, but it’s the best of a bad set of options.

It usually always means “stupid”.

FTFY. AI has become such a buzzword that companies are desperate to throw as much money as they can at the concept, no matter how wildly misplaced their understandings or hopes are.

On that note, what are some decent email providers? I’m using Gmail for all the corporate bs (e.g., Steam, Discord, etc.)

Welcome to America, where the judges might as well wear racing suits full of sponsors. Actually, that might be an improvement on the status quo.

That’s exactly what this is. Apple bought off more politicians than Google did, apparently.

As a Pixel 8 Pro owner, I’d love to see it before November.

I feel like the last bit of this article is really asking for a lot, as big of an open-source fan as I feel like most of us here are. Is a for-profit company really just going to just throw their source code on the web? I doubt it, but that’s what it would take for F-Droid to really take off.

Wasn’t Android 15 supposed to launch in early September, or am I misremembering something?

Yup. Shit needs to be illegal. Is there a GDPR angle to it?

I don’t think OP is that stupid. I’d guess they’ll provide a reasonably close fake location, since their home address is almost certainly known to the insurer.

I’m more referring to servers requiring the handover of phone numbers to join. That implementation is so fucking stupid.

It was being done by a Paradox-owned studio out of California, over whom Paradox likely had little day-to-day operational influence.

Friendly reminder that the piracy of Nintendo games is not only always morally correct, but more importantly, it’s obligatory.

Imagine expecting things to be simple, though. Something something Murphy’s Law…

Counter: How do devs actually compress their fucking games? No reason games should approach taking up half of a hard drive.

Welp, I already didn’t like the games EA currently makes. Looking forward to going well out of my way to avoid buying anything they put out, no matter how good the reviews, trailers, etc. seem.

Are you implying the PS6 is going to launch in the next…two years give or take, or that somehow R* will let the game slip almost another decade?

That, and the PS5 was so hard to buy for most of its lifecycle…

Console makers are really on a warpath to torching whatever goodwill they’ve got left.

There’s a quote by Miyamoto Shigeru that comes to mind here. “A delayed game will eventually be good, but a bad game will forever be bad.”

Considering I’m heading for a layoff soon, I’m actually probably going to apply. Glad I learned Japanese in grad school.

I just want more co-ops in general. They, and the racing genre, are two things that are dying that I’m sad to see go.

For me it’s probably KSP and/or KSP2, which is weird because I literally design and program for rockets as a job…
