I started Ragnarok Online in 2003 and it is my favorite game of all time. Easily the best sandbox RPG I’ve ever played. I don’t think I’d actually still be here typing this if I never got into it. I met some incredible people. Thank you for mentioning it. I’ve been meaning to try Origins but I haven’t got around to it. I was very sad when they went F2P and added stupid F2P mechanics.
I wish I still had my old account, with my ice pick and my angeling robe on my GC Crusader!
I’m so happy to hear that you, not having nostalgia for it, enjoy it now! Sending love from a very RO oldhead.
Quick edit: to anyone else reading this, RO is a choose your own adventure hat-wearing chatroom and it’s CHARMING. also the soundtrack by SoundTEMP is fucking stellar. “Desert” and “Purity of your Smile” are so good.
Also my unknown-at-the-time queer ass really wanted to hold Moonlight Flower’s hand.
I will scream from the mountaintops that The Hex is his best game. I loved Inscryption so much and thought there was no idea I’d like any of his older games better. Inscryption has better replayability for sure, but I think overall The Hex is a better game. I love it sooooo much and people just get turned off by the graphics, because they don’t understand that there’s a reason they look like that in the previews… and why they can’t show other things.
Anyone reading this, please go play The Hex.
Hahaha that’s an adorable image, but we’re on the computer! My partner sits in the bed and I sit in my office chair next to the bed. I have my computer screen mirrored to a really big monitor for them to see. I click on things, and they do the brain-thinking.
We would cuddle while doing this, but we get REALLY into the voice acting, so we really gotta belt it out. We each have a solid set of unique voices for each character!
I don’t wanna get into spoiler territory just in case, but it’s fun that they are Maya and I’m Mia… I didn’t think that would come so heavily into play!
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney! My partner and I each voice act half the characters. It’s been a HOOT! I think I’m at the end of the first game.
I recently got New Leaf installed on my hacked N3DSXL. I loved New Horizons but it got a bit stale. The villagers were all kinda samey and didn’t have much dialogue. New Leaf insofar feels like it has much more soul. But we’re only 30 hours in or so, so we’ll see!
Oh hell yeah! I like you. One of my biggest peeves is reviewers rating something a 6/10 as “okay but kinda bad.” For me, a 5/10 is a serviceable game that I enjoyed, but has some flaws. Not until like 4/10 do I rate “really flawed and needs much work”. I have tons of 5/10 games I really enjoyed.
I think I have three or four 10/10 games period, reviewers throw that out like parade candy!
Oh I could not agree more with all of your points hahaha. I did like the seatruck more than the giant sea base in the first game (I never really used that…) but I also modded my seatruck so it wouldn’t go slower with more cars attached.
I gave the original Subnautica an 8/10 (on a real rating system, where 5/10 is an average game, not trash lawl) and I gave BZ a 6/10. It was good, but the original was amazing.
Honestly, a Dualsense wired up. The special haptics and triggers only work when plugged in, so I plug mine in all the time. Some games, like Pacific Drive, Metro, and Returnal are COMPLETELY transformed by the triggers and haptics. Even the lil speaker makes a difference. My partner and I both use Dualsense controllers but we will never have a PS5 hahaha
Ugh I only have a link to the guide I used on Reddit, but since I did this, both emulators have been taken down.

It will still work if you can get the software tho!
The mainline Zelda games were fantastic emulated, beautiful with graphics mods and at 1440p/60-120FPS! I also really enjoyed Link’s Awakening. I played Monster Hunter Rise on my regular switch for like 140 hours, but I wish I had waited for the computer version.
I’m definitely passing on Switch 2. I only ever played my Switch docked and always wished I was just playing it in the computer instead.
Yus! I also spelled his name wrong, it’s ManyKudos. Anyway, he was VERY passionate about RDR2 online, but all of their decisions were extremely lazy and cash-grabby. Now they’re on an indefinite hiatus from any meaningful (or any at all) updates, just years of shitting on the playerbase.
