Apps by corporations are stuffed with ads, telemetry and other crap. It uses frameworks on top of other frameworks and import libraries for the dumbest shit. For example the reddit app is about 120mb while my lemmy voyager app is 8mb…
The twitch.tv app is 150mb while an open source twitch app is 25mb. It has even more functionality and options and runs like butter.
Most of the shit phones have to run and process is in the background to track and sell.
Its really bad and why i encourage people to use open source versions of stuff they use.
If anyone has a solution for the vram going out of control, i would be so happy 😔. I only have 8gb of vram and it keeps going slightly above it and shoves stuff in normal ram. Causing the game to stutter its way into 25fps. If i then go into a building or fast travel, i get a fatal error and it crashes.
I have tried limiting the pooling vram in the engine.ini but that doesn’t actually work.
Same. I’m really really enjoying it. The parkour as Naoe feels really cool and the atmosphere is just stunning. I am really liking the story so far too.
My favorite assassins creed was Origins and this one is a big improvement on even that one.

If you like assassins creed, personally this is the best one yet. Of you don’t like assassins creed, don’t play it.
I think the developers did an amazing job and they should be proud of what they made.
Are there legit criticism to be has about micro transactions? Absolutely. But aside from that, the game is really good.
Oh and the music too! Loving the different styles of music they made for different fights.
They did not say the game is disrespectful. They were worried that if players can deface of destroy a temple or harm people with a katana ingame, they might be inspired to do it in real life too. Ubisoft released a patch that now made shrines indestructible.
The response from the prime minister is really just about being worried people copy the ingame behavior of destroying a shrine, to real life.

They are not doing anything wrong, dipshit. What is the horrific thing they are doing? Protecting trans colleagues? Protecting people of color they work with? But valve is not powerless. They provide the API to easily trade outside of the steam marketplace. And saying Valve is morally earning money while the competition does not, its not a fair thing to say. Valve started the whole slotmachine lootbox bullshit in the first place. They know very well what they’re doing. Valve could give gamblers 2 weeks to take their skins off the sites and then block API access to these casinos or just shut down the API completely. Saying victims will be hurt so lets have casinos continue to create victims, is a strange argument to make.
Yes, Epic launcher is shit. But steams features aren’t all it is praised to be either. I like some of it like the recording feature and steam link. But ANYTHING on steam involving community is absolute garbage. Guides are just meme bullshit. Discussion forums for games are filled with hate speech, points farming and incels. Screenshots is a ton of sexual stuff. Their customer service is horrific. Moderation is almost non existent. CS2 is a gambling similator filled with underaged addicts and Valve profits a ton from them.
I own a steam deck and use it everyday. But only for games because any Steam aspect involving the platform is absolute shit.
So besides games being discounted a ton, Steam is pretty shit and Valve doesn’t give a shit because they rake in money while sitting on their asses.
I honestly feel like this with Genshin Impact. It looks absolutely breathtaking and in 20 years it will still be beautiful. It runs on a damn potato. I personally like the lighting in a lot of scenes way better than the lighting in some titles that have path tracing.
I have always liked art styles in games better than realism.

There is a steam group called “Wholesome Games” that lists cozy games. They also do nintendo direct style twitch streams. There is a ton of amazing cozy games. Of course there are some not so great ones. But the video seemed to focus only on stardew valley clones. Even though there are so many unique ones out there.

I should check those out! I really miss those days. Playing the Vampire slayer mod. The Specialists, Sven co-op, Brain bread, even the silly minigames in counter strike 1.6.
I LOVED the minigames where it was knife only and there were these janky-ass vehicles. I found a screenshot of the map actually: 
I miss these times so much. I know there is minigames in csgo, but its mostly just the jail and zombie escape ones.
In counterstrike source there were zombie survival maps where you had unlimited ammo and could shoot props such as couches infront of doorways to kind of block yourself in. I would hide in the vents and shoot a couch into it. Then go in it myself and they would only be able to attack from the front because the couch would block my back.

Sea of Thieves is such an amazing game. I love just taking my boat and doing the treasure hunting. I haven’t played in over a year because the one thing i can’t deal with is the pvp. I am not good at it and frankly i have zero interest in it. But it is forced on you and people will sometimes just chase you till the ends of the ocean to take you out. I know there is now a “safe seas” mode but it is soooo limited. You aren’t even allowed to take your own ship 🥺.
I always played with my partner and my little sister. But my little sister just ends up getting drunk, eating all the food and falling off the boat hahaha. So we put her ass in the jail sell till she sobers up.
But fuck do i miss this game… alright time to reinstall!
