Great game. Awesome game. Runs like shit in late game even on modern hardware unless you keep things smaller and boring + the modding situation sucks a lot. Fun enough to still be worth playing. Hopefully someday they’ll make a sequel to address some of these issues or someone else will make a similar game with better performance. Sins 2 is a thing but it’s only on epic and I don’t use Windows. We might get a steam release some day but until then I’m too lazy to pirate it.
If they really have been working on this for the past 4 years like they say, I wouldn’t go as far as to say it will live up to the trailer and hype but it’s still a unique idea that hasn’t been done to death so unless they sell out or really fuck up, I think it will still be a good game.
If this wasn’t an indie game it would have no chance. An AAA studio or publisher would never risk pursuing a new idea like this in the first place though
Unless they put the og bf1 maps into bf2 like that one pc mod does AND also implement splitscreen on the console versions, there will be no point in playing this. A pc version will only be worth playing if it can still load custom maps and only if the multi-player works ok with custom maps like the original which is a hard bar to reach considering even complicated custom maps with lots of hacks work well over lan.
I played the crap out of this as a kid and also as an adult. It’s one of the greatest games ever made. It has to at least be better than the original in every way or it’s blasphemy.
People spent lots of effort on Xbox 360 hacking just because microsoft spent so much effort making it as unhackable as possible. Fortunately, console gaming is so much less relevant today that it’s not even worth remembering what the latest consoles are. Sure, there are some shitty AAA titles that lock things down or are so demanding they need a $100k pc but between the few ethical worthwhile ones and the expansive library of actually good indie games on steam, consoles just aren’t worth fucking with anymore.
They’re making another one? Fuck. My pc can’t even run the current one. The current one has better than real life graphics, what more do people want? Is Nvidia giving everyone at Microsoft blowjobs or something? Give people time to catch up ffs.
I’m glad I don’t care for flight sims because fsx, the one before the current one, doesn’t run well on modern pcs because of its stupid 4gb ram limit crashes. I’m not playing in fucking 800x600 just to avoid a crash.
Trying to compile well-documented github projects is a crap shoot half the time. iirc no one figured out how to compile even the Windows XP source code when it got leaked and it’s long gone/no longer obtainable so no one can try. The chances of anything coming out of this that the average person will see are almost complete zero.
Modern system requirements are such a scam. Like come the fuck on. 2005 graphics were good enough. Textures. Meshes. Uv mapping. Directional lighting. Do they really have to make it so hard?
Please stop fucking making everything need a fucking supercomputer. Oh boy I can’t wait for the next time developers decide my shit is last gen so I have to replace my perfectly good gpu just for the new one to melt my cables and overheat itself to death 4 years later.
Aren’t we supposed to be fighting climate change or something? Make games work on way less computing power. For. Fuck. Sake.
My 2 cents is that you usually need an unlocked bootloader so you can load xposed and get privacy apps that spoof or block certain permissions per app. That is the unconditional indispensable killer feature for me. Sure, using this stuff isn’t 100% bulletproof but I’m at the very least making my information more expensive to harvest and at most making it so that governments and corporations have to hire actual/better hackers to steal my info.
Android ftp apps never work. It’s also a huge pain and borderline impossible on some distros to get mtp over usb cable to work and even when it does work it barely works. Most phones don’t have an sdcard slot so you can’t go that route either. And I’m definitely not using Google drive because they’ve on purpose tried to make it impossible to go any route other than that and fuck Google.
My solution? I made a php page with a file upload so I have to upload my files via php. It’s the only way. It’s still easier than using the USB cable if it actually worked though. Luckily there’s no way Google will ever find a way to patch this out.
Transferring files to the phone involves using the same upload button just from a pc and then I download them from the “view uploaded files” button which is a page that autogenerates download links to a page.
When you’re 30, addicted to alcohol, have a shitty job and have a hard time enjoying anything anymore you’ll look back on these times with envy I promise. Being able to play video games all day and experiencing drug-use like fulfillment from it is a superhuman power in and of itself.

That void opal exploit was fun while it lasted too. It came up pretty late, maybe 2017 or 2018. They tried to nerf it by making most traders not buy opal and the ones that did would only buy only 1 void opal at a time and for always less than the galactic market. Fortunately, this attempt was bugged and traders would buy an unlimited number, albeit for a reduce price that was still worth it. It took them at least a month to patch it to the point where traders would actually only buy 1 void opal.
Absolutely fuck frontier for their gameplay balance decisions. I still managed to barely scrape together an Anaconda just because I did drugs back then but still, fuck Frontier. Shame on me for playing that game anyway instead of finding better things to do although I never did any in game purchases.
Around the time the game first came out you could make all your money just by bounty hunting in a sidewinder. It was great because it was the only actually fun way to progress the game by making money. They quickly nerfed the fuck out of that though and things quickly devolved to the point it takes 200 hours of trading just to afford anything.
Idk, maybe if they didn’t lock down their game to the point of always online with no mods and maybe if they reduced the grind to a point people with a job or a life could play the game and still progress the game at all, more people would play their space game.
It was borderline acceptable in 2015 when their game was the only one of it’s kind but that is no longer the case. It’s time to open things up or the game will die. Because as it stands, playing their old games + mods is a better choice than their new game with always online drm and no mods.
What even is the point? The stock market is just a ticking time bomb and when it fucks up, somehow people lose their job and their house and anything else thats sustained by income. This makes sense how??? How is the stock market not considered a crime against humanity? It doesn’t benefit anyone except maybe rich people but rich people are already rich so who tf cares.
Meh, being able to build your own ship like Skyrim and kerbal space progran had a baby sounds like it makes up for that but I haven’t played the game so idk. Most space games are either a massive ripoff (think Star Citizen) or a major grindfest (Elite Dangerous) so it’s good to see someone try to make a space game that isn’t like that.
No Man’s Sky and Stationeers are almost similar games that are good but in those games the space ship game mechanics and functionality just aren’t there.
But then at least by the time they get it working, they’ll have enough practice to make a new llm to convert their Java code to a useful programming language.
Java is definitely a programming language but good luck actually getting it to compile on anyone else’s machine besides the person who wrote the project.
Yet another reason I never buy anything from Nintendo. Fuck those fucks. On average only like 2 Nintendo games per console generation are ever any good anyway. They should be held responsible for all the e-waste they generate.
