It reminds me in a lot of ways of FFXIV. It was made by a lot of the same people so that’s no surprise. It’s fairly dark but it’s a good story. The expansions are way too short - I had hoped they’d add more depth to some of the back story.

I enjoyed the game a lot in spite of its shortcomings. It doesn’t have as much “extra stuff” to do as many other final fantasies but the core game is solid.

I ended up picking up the PC version to play through again. The PS5 version is held back a lot by the platform.

Both great games but held back by their launch platform.

Steve Burke is a treasure. It’s rare to see anyone in the space stand up to companies like Asus because so many of them are dependent upon getting review samples for free and so on. He just doesn’t seem to give a shit and I love him for it, and his subscribers reward him for it. I wish the auto industry had more people holding their feet to the fire.

Yeah it’s there now but wasn’t when it first launched.

I would have probably bought it if it were on steam but alas it was not and turned out to be mediocre anyway. Loved the original series

I wish they’d release them at the same time like MS does with their first party stuff. Some of the Sony games take years to come to PC.

I’m sure that’s a factor in exploration but the engine doesn’t prevent them from adding a more interesting story, lore, and decent voice acting.

You might be able to fix this by disabling “modern standby”. That was the key on my Dell laptop from work having the same issue and threatening to melt my backpack every night.

The picture quality isn’t as noticeable to me as the additional HDR and spatial sound that tends to be included. Even with that, any Blu-ray is significantly better than streaming.

UHD Blu-rays still have value and relevance. This is unfortunate.

The Longest Journey. Wonderful story, great voice acting, beautiful environment.

Maybe some point and click adventure games? Those tend to have great stories. The Longest Journey, Syberia, stuff like that.
