100% agree. I’ve been in the same cycle of wanting to like the game but the progression is just awful. A lot of cool ideas that only work if you max out the game. Problem is early progression feels so boring and id rather build a shitty house in minecraft than spend an hour flying to different planets looking for a random map that will unlock something or go to a random temple that unlocks a word to partially understand a merchant to unlock the next item.
It’s insane to me that people support companies that do these predatory practices. Even worse that steam allows companies that steal from their customers to be listed.
That understates the importance of a studio having respect for the customers. Yes being a good game is the most important thing but if ES 6 released tomorrow on the same engine as they’ve been using, there would a community uproar.
They’ve lost much of their innovation over the years. They have forgotten one of the core concepts of marketing to kids and that’s that the parents have to approve of the product. Many parents these days are Nintendo fans so we can smell bullshit when we see it.
Whoever designed payday 3 should be fired. It’s nothing like payday 2 in terms of controls. The controls made sense in 2. In 3 I couldn’t figure out basic buttons without looking it up. Not to mention time and 3 others were stuck in the tutorial because it was bugged.
Considering Sweeney says they made a lot of money on the free games program, what you are suggesting is a bad idea. Your proposal only reduces the number of users which devs are explicitly trying to get.
I’m assuming they mean open world. There use to be an rpg for the PS2 gen of consoles. Was pretty fun. Probably the only sonic game I liked.m honestly.
