Clowns to the left of me. Jokers to the right.
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you.
I am not letting myself get excited for another BF game until I see trusted reviews saying this feels like 2,3 or 4.
It looks like it might be heading the right direction but I got so fucking bamboozled with 2042 that I will never trust them again. I mean I should have known better before then but I was a hopeless dreamer and wanted bad company 2 back.
Top of the line suspension. There are actually multiple spots on the track where they will briefly be entirely airborne. It’s where a lot of rider crash actually. If you don’t land perfectly you can very easily lose the bike. There are lots of slow motion shots of two sliders flying over a crest side by side and both going airborne next to each other. Absolute insanity.
No what’s insane is these riders will fly past spectators mere inches from a wall at speeds upwards of 200mph.
The highest recorded speed of the riders on one of the straights is 206mph I believe. The record for highest average speed of a lap (which is nearly 38 miles long) was 136mph in a little over 16 minutes.
Insane doesn’t even begin to describe these riders and that race.
Midnight club 3 dub edition was THE game my brother and I played to the point the disk stopped reading eventually. That was a sad day.
If you’re getting into motorsports in general and you liked rally I might recommend checking out the isle of Mann tt. It’s the single most deadly motorsports event held each year. It averages more than two and a half deaths every year. Last year was super rare in that nobody died. Last time that happened was like 2012 I think. The most insane race car drivers in the world will tell you that nobody is more batshit crazy that the Isle of man riders. Even rally drivers look at them and think they are nuts.
That’s makes a ton of sense then. Well I would highly recommend 3, 4 and 5 as well, but those games might end up tainting your memory of 6. Or who knows maybe playing 6 first will make you not really like the other ones.
If you were only going to play one other far cry game I would recommend 5 as it’s the most recent title while also still feeling like a “proper” far cry game.
I think 5 is my overall favorite from the series but 4 is probably the most “far cry” of all the far cry games. I really did not enjoy New Dawn or 6 at all. I actually had to force myself to finish 6. I kept starting it and losing interest after like an hour. I went back and played 4 and 5 again after I beat 6 just because I felt like I needed to wash out the bad taste 6 had left in my mouth.
I tried to like this game but I refunded it after a hour and a half. It just did not interest me whatsoever.
Pretty much everyone I’ve talked to about the game has neutral to slightly positive things to say, but I don’t think this game was popular enough first time around to warrant a remaster already. There are so many better games that should be getting a remaster first.
The first game has online servers that people host. Usually a blast. The occasional crybaby host. I have spent many nights just crashing into my buddy and trying to take each other out of each race.
Sometimes we will just look for an empty server so we can mess around “alone”.
I don’t believe it supports split screen and I haven’t tried LAN.
The single player campaign of the first game took longer than I expected and was harder than I thought (if you care about getting 3 stars on all races). Some of this races you need a fast light car to win, but the challenges require you to take out a bunch of people meaning you have to do it really intelligently while not losing too much paceborndestroyijg your unarmored race car for example.
Unless they really botch this game (kerbal 2 style) I think this second one will be even better than the first.
If this is basically battlefield 3 + I will happily spend the money and time playing a battlefield again.
If this has any of the BS that made 2042 suck so much ass I will be skipping it.
I miss having a solid battlefield game to play, but I’m not going to take any bullshit included. I don’t wanna see any fuckin wingsuits. No grapple hook Tarzan mother fuckers. No wall hack BS.
I want 4 classes. I want team objectives. I want maps that look like shit by the time a match ends because everthing has been pretty much been leveled by explosives.
Some games lend themselves better to modding. Some are much more complicated to mod. Some games need a mod manager to do conflict checks and some games can just have mods piled on top of each other endlessly without issues.
Mods within certain game engines can pretty much be moved between games ofln the same engine often with very little adjustment.
I would say in modern modding it is usually fairly straightforward, but some games and some older mods definitely require some deep computer fuckery.
Stick to things you’re comfortable with and skip the ones you aren’t.
If they botch this game I fear battlefield might truly be dead and gone. That will be a sad day if it happens.
