Didn’t they recently say that it was technically impossible or something?

I expected something like this to happen. There was no way they were going to be allowed to just make so many computers insecure.

But I’m guessing the windows experience is going to intentionally be made extra bad on those “old” computers.

Last time they were trying to get devs to make games for Linux.

Now the steamdeck can play just about anything. The only exceptions are anti-cheat stuff and a random thing here and there. But that is really rare.

So, I guess what I’m trying to say is that it can’t be worse than last time.

Yup! Sorry, I just finished 2 11-hour shifts back to back and was exhausted.

Also, I didn’t know that this was in Android already. That’s good to know.

I know it doesn’t answer your question, but I use this a lot on iOS. It’s one of the few big reasons I haven’t switched to Android.

It was a bit hard to get into at first because I didn’t like the starting weapon. The stab motion felt too difficult. But you can pretty quickly get a sword that swings and it’s much better.

I got really hooked on the game after pushing just a bit further to get a better weapon.

I think a lot of games these days are keeping low powered devices like the steamdeck in mind. I think we are heading for igpu only for gamers and all the dgpu resources are going to go towards AI.

I don’t live in the US, and I wonder if the used market for them are expensive here.

I’ll have to figure out what to search for.

I didn’t say there any been any great games in past 20 years.

But to answer your question, games were released without stores to purchase cosmetics or dlcc. Games were not released in a buggy state to be patched later, there was no online requirement for single player games.

I’d love to have o e of the ps3s that were backwards compatible.

It’s actually the only console since the nes that I never actually played.

That box brings back memories. What a great console! It was the last great generation of gaming. Once internet connected consoles became the norm, things started to go downhill in many ways.

That’s pretty crazy to think that a full mmo can now run on my phone.

We have come such a long way in regard to tech capability.

Now, let me dock my phone and run a full OS without being restricted to an App Store, Apple!

Anyone have a sudden loss in gaming?
I’m in my late 30s now and over the past 6ish months, I have been gaming a lot less or I find myself gaming but not enjoying it. I used to always have a game I wanted to play or revisit, but it seems that nothing is really catching my interest. I’m mostly a retro gamer so I was always happy to revisit old titles. But now I get bored of them quickly.

Thanks, for the list. I never really considered modding, but some of them look pretty cool.

Sonic Adventure DX gripe
I love this game. I played the Dreamcast version as a kid so many times and recently replaced the PC version. I learned that you can unlock metal sonic after 100% completing the game, but he is just a cosmetic for sonic and thats it. My problem with this is that once the game is 100% complete, do I want to still play just to see a different cosmetic? Maybe if there was some variety to make the levels a bit different or if he was able to be used after getting all the B rank emblems so there is still some challenge to complete.

Can I mod out all the story and just do the missions 😂

I guess, the first play through was much better as it was during pandemic/lockdown and I had tons of free time.

My, now, wife was staying with her parents and I was in the condo alone.

But now I’m just too busy to listen to the story to play a little bit of a shooter.

Cyberpunk replay has been boring.
I played Cyberpunk at launch and while I had some bugs, I generally really enjoyed it and did each of the missions in the game, I decided to replay it since it’s been updated a lot and I’ve found that I’m just bored when playing it. I think I spend about half the time just skipping dialog and the other half shooting. The combat sections seem to pass too quickly just to have a bunch of story to wade through. Maybe I’m just in the mood for a different kind of game.

It’s kind bad that it’s only for a limited time. People who are not paying now will have a mechanical disadvantage that cannot be overcome.

I wouldn’t mind as much if this was always available, but locking it up after a time feels like it’s selling limited time cheats.

I haven’t played a sonic game since sonic adventure 2 and I guess Sonic’s Mania.

How have these games been? Are people looking forward to this one?

I was just wanting to play gta 5 on steamdeck. But it has some anti cheat and stoped working on Linux.

It was just added this past week. So I literally cannot play a game that I bought.

It didn’t even occur to me to go the Libre route. I’m 100% doing that so I can play a game that I own.

Every time I’ve tried to understand passkeys I either don’t get it and it’s scary to potentially be locked out or I do understand it and I still find it scary to potentially be locked out.

Even 2fa is tricky.

If my phone is stolen and I don’t have my laptop with backup codes, then I’m not getting into my accounts.

What if both are stolen or damaged at the same time?

Well that’s just like your opinion, man.

But i think it was a pretty unique game with an interesting art style.

It also had a well written story with unique characters that left an impression.

I’d played it for a few nights before my wife asked me what show I was watching.

She just heard all the dialog and through cuno was annoying.

I think it adds something important to the headline makes it seem like every windows pc has the issue. This user is letting us know they don’t have the problem.
