eh I’m the same as you. even grew up in China for many years and the original comment could be true. who knows, but its getting weird coverage in both countries.

it’s also quite the stereotype (one especially held by western raised Asians) to believe all East Asians have asian elitism. most people I knew in China were insanely jealous of Americans and would give their life savings to send their kids to the US for education and a better life. the rich had the everyone is stupid mentality, but that’s true for rich people everywhere. one thing that is true and why I made the comment in parenthesis is that most Chinese people think Western raised Asian children are raised incorrectly and make that known to their family members in the West which comes off very elitist, but that’s also something shared between cultures around the world who have family members living in the US or equivalent.

no comment on the dudes other comments he’s made since I don’t know much about him, but to apply this to all East Asians especially the Chinese because of his one comment is pretty… yeah.

as much as I think Intel is dumb, it’s definitely not in the consumers best interest for Intel to go out of business or absorbed into another company

kinda… graphics all end up as polygons eventually but 3d tile rendering has a lot of different considerations and limitations you don’t have with rendering a normal 3d asset rendering. check out things like CesiumJS that is an equivalent kind of technology

it’s not the same. 3d games use polygons and shaders and whatnot. you can optimize things much easier in that space since it’s a lot more computational. 3d tiling is literally a bunch of png files being streamed down.

3d terrain tile streaming takes a crazy amount of data. it essentially downloads hundreds of png files at a time and overlays them over 3d terrain data. Everytime you move an inch or pan the camera, it pulls down new data.

You are right and they are wrong. The person you’re responding to is completely irrational and unintelligent. As somebody that doesn’t know them, I look down upon them and will probably periodically remember their foible and think lowly of them again and chuckle while thinking: “hah what a complete idiot”. Rest assured that you won the argument and that no matter where the person you’re responding to gets in life, there’s at least one person who will periodically remember him and think down upon this simpleton of a person and think of you as the person who made them look like that. Hats off.

they meant it as having graphene replace the car’s OS. the cars themselves is the privacy concern
