You have 2 options for the S. Aim for 60 fps, or 30fps. If you target 60, most newer engine titles will look like the new Doom did at 60 fps, garbage. You have to run at such a low resolution to make it possible. At 30fps, you can at least not look like your screen is smeared with vaseline at the sacrifice of smoothness.
Give the player the option of 30/60 so they we can play how we want.
I have an Xbox s and x. If I had paid full price and only had an s, I would have rioted. It looks like Vaseline got smeared all over my tv screen to get it to run on that thing. The framerate is good, but it has to down res so much it looks awful and actually detracts from the experience.
Tbh, the x runs awesome and looks great, but you do need a decent system to run it.
It is turn based, something I wish FF would return to. There are quick time events for every action, it’s not absolutely necessary to do on certain difficulty, but really helps. There is a dodge and parry mechanic that you really should use to help survive.
If you are a fan of turn based rpg, you should check it out.
I think Nintendo thinks they have so much nostalgia, and loyal customers, that this generation they really said “fuck it” and are twisting the knife to see how much the consumer will tolerate. I’m not going to be surprised if we see price drops and actual sales (not 10 bucks off a 5 year old game like they usually do) by the time holidays role around. I don’t think they are anticipating the pushback that is happening.
I’m enjoying the game. Yes, the dialog misses the mark sometimes, and yes, the combat isn’t as deep as other arpgs. I’m still enjoying the overall game, 7 out of 10 for me. It comes across as a laid-back, easy to play game, which fits my playstyle right now anyway. I think the companion side quests are the highlight so far.
You tried to charge money for a live service game, a genre that has endless options that are free.
