Interesting effect of this seems to be a brief rush to buy up skins, inflating their prices as a result. My inventory of cheap junk saw a massive spike in market pricing as the price of knives flatlined

Not until now. Covert was the highest level item you could receive in a trad-up contract. Knives and gloves have been exclusive to the cases.

I had completely forgotten this limp puppet corpse of a game had come out at all. I saw 0 marketing for it, saw a ton of bad reviews and then it disappeared into the void.

I’m actually more surprised to see any further news about it, given it felt like the kind of thing that folds a studio in half.

For customs? Yeah. But pretty much every master used in the RB or GH games have been ripped and are available for use there too

While I have no desire to defend Randy, Twitter is as Twitter does, and unless you spend time looking at his whole timeline, it sounds like he’s saying only stupid shit like this. He did actually acknowledge the issues, and stated that they’re working on them but also that for now the best way to play is with FSR/DLSS and frame gen.

I disagree with this deeply. He makes arguments about the imperceptibility of latency in frame gen, but that’s only true when the base framerate is high enough. DLSS is probably fine, but it’s also pretty fair for those who are using an 80 or 90 class card to complain about struggling at 1440p native, let alone 4k.

Yes. Texture and asset streaming is affected pretty significantly by the speed of your storage. Load times are a large part of where SSDs of different classes can help, but the better your SSD performs for I/O operations, the better for overall visual performance.

I think Deadlock is pretty up there. That said, it’s closer to Smite than it is a hero shooter. The community-driven character builds mean meta is pretty fluid and it has what I would describe as a very accessible MOBA-centered design. I don’t care for MOBAs much, but to say Valve isn’t innovating here would be disingenuous. I think my only problem with it is that it’s lacking something that makes the gameplay loop feel satisfying, but that may just be my bias against MOBAs talking.

Seems to depend on the flavour of Android. What version/brand do you have? I know my Pixel asks first unless I allow it more generally.

You may be looking for the “Instant Apps” settings though. Searching “links” in your Android settinbs should provide a similar result regardless what brand of phone you have though.

Hardly. I’ve played enough dumpsterfire UE4 ports to know it’s no better if the devs don’t put the effort in.

Important note is the demo was never available for download through steam, only via the website of the listed developer. Valve/Steam have only removed the store page listing.

TechCrunch’s writer here just appears to be lazy as hell. Here’s a better article: https://www.thegamer.com/steam-gets-second-game-in-as-many-months-that-adds-malware-to-your-pc/

Honestly the Reddit thread is the best of the bunch though if you want more details

Honestly the idea of a Gamepass Centric handheld is one I’m surprised they didn’t go for already. If they push it with just the Xbox styled front end, it’ll probably be more appealing than the xbox itself

The problem is they didn’t initiate the DMCA process at all, nor did the report submitted have anything to do with Copyright Infringement. They submitted a fraud/phishing report, as if the domain itself was serving or facilitating malicious content harmful to someone who visits it… So forget the DMCA process, this was straight up just corner cutting on the part of the firm representing Funko that misrepresented the nature of the situation as a whole.

Excellent. I have no real qualms with the existing deb package, but this greatly simplifies using it on anything else.

Also worth noting is their history as an IP mill. Dead By Daylight is a surprise hit amongst many a licensed deal to produce games that would nearly qualify as shovelware in most cases over the last 20+ years. DbD gives them some independence, but they’re still largely a “studio for hire” by anyone who needs them.

I firmly believe this Quest exclusivity junk is stifling VR in a way that sets it back quite a lot. There’s a lot of interesting ideas, but the closed ecosystem that Meta/Facebook has crafted is detrimental overall. It limits the peripherals, the fidelity, and it doesn’t even have the kind of competition something like the old console wars did. It’s just dumb.

If your only intention is to use the card for encoding, I recommend picking up an A380 instead. The A770 is a surprisingly performant gaming card for newer titles, but all of the available ARC cards have the same encoder.

Since the A380 is typically single slot, and fits within the 75W spec, you don’t even need an extra power cable for it if you wanted it as a secondary card too.

Intel seemed to fall behind kinda hard w/ regards to CPU/Motherboard features until much later on. Supposing you aren’t working with parts you already have, everything from 1st generation Ryzen onwards would have rebar support. They can be had very cheaply too, and work on any AM4 board.

You may also find a BIOS update allows some older chipsets to support rebar. It’s a tad flaky depending on the manufacturer though.
