Yes, I’ve used both on Windows 11. Unfortunately, does nothing for the User Interface size. But that’s exactly what I had to do to get the original games to run before this shameless flip.

EA releases another shameless IP flip with Sims 1/2 Legacy
EA has done it again. They just released Sims 1 and 2 Legacy Collection on Steam, and it's nothing but a Shameless IP flip. Many players who are really passionate about old games have played Sims 1 and 2 and even Sims 3 on PC on Windows 11, even up to this day. It's a little bit more challenging because they are all on discs and you have to install them and use compatibility settings and all that stuff. But at least they run. The Legacy Collection that they released on Steam Just a Week Ago, it doesn't work. It doesn't launch, crashes constantly, there is no user interface scaling so on Modern computers, nothing gets any larger. I have an ultrawide 34401440 monitor and it is absolutely microscopic.... So you have to ask yourself, why would they release this game again, if they didn't do anything to it? They literally didn't develop anything. They didn't make it work on Windows 11, they didn't up the interface, they didn't provide new graphics. So what is it? It's a Shameless asset flip. EA flexing their intellectual property in hopes that passionate fans will bite and purchase a game that doesn't work Sad these scams are legal

RuneScape is planning on introducing Black Mirror inspired membership plans
Jagex, devs of RuneScape, are testing how far they can push monetization without losing players. However, many long-time players are realizing they don’t want their paid game of 10+ years to turn into an ad-filled, pay-to-win nightmare. **Things that Jagex, RuneScape developer, hopes to add to the game:** * Advertisements - an ad supported plan like Hulu, so you have ads hitting you in the face while you play * Paid account recovery - Pay more money to recover your account! * Character Name reservations * "special worlds" just for you! So VIP servers, paying EXTRA... for VIP servers, on a game you already pay to play * Pay to win features - longer AFK timer to stay in the game for longer. If you pay more, you ge a longer in-game access time * More membership price hikes - It's likely the membership price will rise AGAIN. Keep in mind, Jagex profit AFTER ALL EXPENSES has surged over 35% over past 5 years. They are stealing from their players, robbing them blind **Example of their black-mirror inspired membership plans** The $32.49/month membership option for Old School RuneScape and RuneScape 3 includes: * Access to both games. * 2 member characters. * Additional member characters for $10.49 per month each. * Specialized Member Worlds. * Character Name Reservations. * Pre-Verified Account Recovery. * A complimentary bond. You ready to be nickle and dimed like going to the carwash and getting that juicy tire shine for an extra $5? Here's a wonderful discussion post if you enjoy diving in and seeing some great points, and information: [Membership Survey /r/2007scape](https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/1i3nsb2/comment/m7og6hg/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) TL;DR: Jagex survey asking if players are ok paying an absurd amount more money for having access to customer service, ad-free gaming experience. Players went ballistic, and are finally wiseing up to how awful the company really has become.

There’s OSRS still, for the moment “uncorrupted”, but it’s basically starting fresh even when your account existed when OSRS was Runescape

Unfortunately you’re a little bit behind on the times. They basically gave up on fighting bots because they know that they pay a subscription and there’s no point in getting rid of them if they are a recurring source of revenue, so they quietly stopped fighting back against them and claim that it’s not possible to solve the problem when they know exactly what they can do to solve it. Endgame is basically non-existent, it’s literally just grinding the same exact bosses infinitely to fill out collection log or get a specific pet. That’s the entire end game. They have done nothing to actually make the game more enjoyable and that’s kind of a problem for people because if you’ve already maxed wood cutting and fishing, what’s the incentive of doing it again on another account?

Us RuneScape vets who quit knew this was coming when they started playing hot potato with Jagex limited. They keep selling it to different companies, now it’s owned by a shitty investment company that basically kills off the companies it buys so it owns the IP and doesn’t have to keep the games alive. It can then flip the IP for huge amounts of money. But anyway… Both versions of the game are just cash grabs at this point designed to waste the maximum amount of players time

Yo ho ho, There is no sailing on the high seas when we are talking about multiplayer games! Alive service game, it be!

Nothing more disappointing to me than seeing a game I might enjoy... and then it's only available on PC on Epic Games store. Why can't it be available on Epic, Xbox game store and Steam? It's so annoying, like you have no choice but to use Epic... which I would literally do ANYTHING not to use.

You’d think the game is fun but people on wow are so miserable. They’re always upset, DOTA2 energy tbh kicking each other from groups and harassing each other, hating on their own game

Any games you recommend playing? I’m very bored lately

Anyone else bounce around from game to game with no clue what to play?
Used to spend most of my days playing live service games that required a huge amount of time, or big AAA titles that are critically acclaimed. For example, Fallout 4/76, Battlefield 2042, rainbow six, World of Warcraft, RuneScape, Skyrim, Destiny 2, OverWatch.... Basically any really big game that you would find on the top 20 of steam or by player count, I would spend a huge amount of time playing that. But I got pretty bored of all these really big games having overplayed them so much, and now I have no idea what to play anymore... So I'll spend a few hours playing something, and then jump to another game and then another game and none of them give me any Joy. For example, playing 3 hours of 7 Days to Die, 10 hours of No Man's Sky, 5 hours of stardew Valley, play fortnite with a friend for 2 hours, login to World of Warcraft and get bored Within a day or two. Tried going back to Battlefield 2042 because it saw a small uptick of players.... Honestly have no idea what to play anymore. So I just bounce around trying to look for something that'll bring me some joy and don't get much luck

I really wanted to try Starfield but can’t justify the price. Like I want to buy it, but I also don’t have that kind of money to spend. Might start asking around my local friends to see if any of them have it so I can library share with them

Then… Why not just price it correctly to begin with? Huh… I’d buy some of these newer games if they cost a reasonable amount. Starfield out here charging $70 for a 5.5/10 game

I was really tempted by the sale for BFV and BF2042 and a friend told me not to saying it’s EA owned and that’s bad 🥲

It's beyond insane to me that a $70 "AAAA" game (kidding, it's AAA) dips down to the absurd price of $5. I've never seen anything like it. Wish the entire Sims 4 "collection" if you can call it that was $5 total, would be incredible, or Starfield.

I’m not a farming account lol! Why would I care about points? Are they worth something here?

Huh… Not me but very interesting. I guess I’m not the only one who found this frustrating or annoying. I mean you have to think, it’s a game with over 10 million players so I’m guessing someone else found it frustrating? If this is posted too frequently though, I’ll gladly remove it.

I honestly cannot trust game reviewers after seeing some of the reviews for this exceptional game. What game has ever had a successful issue-free launch in the past 4 years? I can’t think of a single one. But all of a sudden they are holding this one to a much higher standard, like where the fuck was that when Starfield came out? Hundreds upon hundreds of fake, completely inflated reviews claiming it was perfect in every single way.

Tbh If I had a friend who has it on Steam I’d probably try it through library sharing but I don’t.

Do you like the latest updates? The way the game is headed?

I prefer not to think about how could life be different now if I had not started this game…

I used to think like this. It took me a while to realize it wouldn’t be different at all. You gotta take care of yourself in life and that includes your mental health and well-being. Sometimes that’s playing a game you love

But like what are you doing Starfield for that long? I feel like after 25 hours I had seen and experienced everything that there was to offer. What else is there left to do?

Great list! I’ve tried Dota 2 as well, it’s definitely extremely complex and addictive but not my kind of game, I just cannot thrive and enjoy that sort of game. Same goes with League of Legends. Just not my cup of tea.

I am a little curious about Stellaris though. That game seems so incredibly complex, like, what about it is The draw for people? I’ve heard so many people talk about it and has so many freezy steam reviews but when I first tried it as a demo, it seemed so absurdly complex That my head was spinning. Like I had no idea what the heck was going on. I’m not sure how to enjoy it I guess

You are very brave for playing Starfield for 1,000 hours. I gave up after 25 hours when I completed the entire quest line and started new game plus. Literally couldn’t do it. Went and played some No Man’s sky, and now that’s becoming my new addiction

People still play Fallout 4? What are you doing the game? I beat it like years ago but don’t know how to enjoy it if I played it again today

I’ve played dark souls remastered… It’s hard as hell man. Haven’t tried Ellen ring yet but it’s on my list

Appreciate the great response and recommendations!

There was this online Pokémon game that was somehow realistic.

I think you’re talking about pokémon revolution online, or something similar. There’s a few pokémon MMOs.

Does it have multiplayer or is it single player only? Destiny 2 was only really playable because I had a community/clan that I played with actively for the social aspect of it. Horribly boring playing it solo

There was a moment in my life when I thought that perhaps I was outgrowing games

My exact thought earlier this year, honestly. I’m right there with you

Personally, I’d recommend giving up on looking for a new 1000+ hour obsession. Instead I’d recommend seeking a broad array of 10-100 hour loves.

This is exactly what I’ve been doing for the past 6 months. I’ve discovered some pretty crazy and amazing titles. Played Everything from BG3 to No Man’s sky, lots of indie titles my favorites being Boomer shooters and new up and coming titles. I tried Stardew Valley for the first time since everyone seems to be raving about that one, and a couple similar ones like my time at Sand Rock, Valheim was awesome. Guess I feel like I’m running out of stuff to play lately

You should try Brighter Shores.

I tried it, and it was really hard to get into. There are some pretty big glaring flaws of the game right now that make it simply unfun to play, in my honest opinion. One of them is the fact that it feels like RuneScape classic, rather than RuneScape 2. For example when you do activities like fishing, you have to click each individual fish over and over again to infinity. Which doesn’t feel enjoyable. Combat is also rather clunky, and there’s little dopamine involved. I also distinctly hate the fact that you cannot do what you want with combat, like you cannot be an archer. You only get like three arrows and then you have to use melee. Also it seems like skills are only usable in one area, once you move on to the next episode, there are no areas to practice those skills anymore. So it’s really not fair in my honest opinion to compare it to RuneScape at all. Once you get into the forest, there is no fishing spot as far as I’m aware… I can respect that people like it but it’s not for me

Sorry I’m out of loop. Why is Palworld bad? If I’m reading your comment right when you say 2 worst.

What are your favorite 1000+ hour games?
One thing I have struggled with lately is finding good games to play. I bounce around from game to game trying to enjoy it but it just doesn't scratch the itch like it used to. For example, one of my favorites was old school RuneScape, but it hasn't really been giving me the same enjoyment that it used to. So then I would open up World of Warcraft, Destiny 2, just playing a little bit of each game. Think maybe I need some new games to play but it's tough to find them these days. So what are your favorite 1000+ hour games?

Is a Quest 3 really worth it?
I have been really tempted to jump into VR for a little while now, I tried it when the quest first came out, the very first one but it was too blurry and made me dizzy. I've considered getting back into it again, but the thing that has made me really hesitant is I've heard that VR is not in the greatest place and that it's really tough to find good VR games to play. For example, there's Fallout and Skyrim VR but they're not really in good shape, and it takes a lot of modding and tweaking to get them to actually work properly. But I'm curious what other people think. Do you think VR is in a good enough place to be able to play it and enjoy it long-term? Or is it some sort of short-term hype thing?
