Roots of Pacha is a really nice Stardew Valley inspired farming game with a very unique setting (stone age). Could be worth checking out for you.

How do we know there was? How, exactly is one to prove that a transaction didn’t take place? Sure, he, the former owner, could say there wasn’t, but that doesn’t mean any more or less than what he already has, which is that he believes the new owners share his vision for the site! And at least he picked two people who, to my understanding, have been around Nexus for awhile!

I’m not saying it’s impossible that Nexus enshittifies, and I understand that it’s been a trend lately, but this, as of this moment right now, feels like senseless panic that ought to be saved for when they actually do something wrong! I’ll join the hate wagon when they start brutally monatizing the site or taking IPOs.

Jesus fucking Christ, they didn’t sell out to a fucking company! He transferred ownership to two long-time users of the site! There wasn’t even a deal struck, he just said “you’re the owners now!”

In my honest opinion, I could hype it up even more. But to give you an incredibly grounded opinion, it is a lot of fun, especially if you enjoy JRPGs. I find it to be a very well made game, and even a friend of mine who normally is a big FPS nut is absolutely addicted to it, even playing it over the new DOOM title. I would say you’re, in the worst-case scenario, incredibly unlikely to regret trying it at least. The only very clear problem I have with it is that it can be incredibly easy to over-level yourself in it.

I don’t think that matters. This is likely a decision handed down by upper management. And that’s what makes it depressing; what could’ve continued to be some of the greatest creators of Sci-Fi video games instead have mismanaged their talent and shot both their feet off.

Man, as somebody who grew up with Halo, it’s really depressing to see how they seem to just be utterly incapable of an original thought anymore.

If you have a newer NVIDIA, you should be good. It’s a little rough around the edges here and there (steam overlay flickered for a friend, but that was months ago and could well be fixed) , but to my understanding, the worst issues have been solved. And having previously used an RTX 2040, it worke perfectly where it truly matters.

Like others have said, try a dualboot. It can’t hurt.

I’ve been saying this even before Bethesda went down the gutter. Everyone is pointing to their recent collosal failures like they wouldn’t still be disappointed even if ES6 was “perfect.”

I don’t think anybody can point out what, exactly, made Skyrim so fucking legendary. It was a buggy, unpolished mess of a game. Its lore was inconsistent. It had a villain and story that should have been deeply intriguing and interesting and yet it does Alduin a disservice and was, quite frankly, boring.

But somehow the game was fun. So fun that people spent an average 80 hours a week playing it, me included! And the only possible exploration is that Bethesda had passion, and then Skyrim inflated their egos. So I can see why people see their recent spree of lackluster-to-terrible games as a very valid reason for agreeing with Tod Howard, for once.

Set that aside, however. Let’s assume they “get it right.” Let’s assume it’s made with passion and recent history has humbled them. People will still be disappointed. Why? Because “it’s not Skyrim.” Just in the same way that hardcore ES fans hated Skyrim because “it’s not Morrowind.” Skyrim set the bar so astronomically high that it would take an absolute fucking miracle for them to, at bare minimum, meet expectation! And it would honestly be better that they didn’t, because then people would expect them to hit that milestone every, single time when the “secret ingredient” to Skyrim’s legendary success is so fucking aetherial nobody can say exactly what it is.

I heavily agree with this. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about video games and gamers, it’s that people who are happy with their games, are playing their games! The people who aren’t happy, are going to Reddit and the forums to bitch and moan. The anti-“woke” crowd is fueled by outrage. And that’s all it is: senseless outrage. There’s no substance to it. Let them scream into the void until they tire themselves out.

Indeed. New Grounds was before my time, but I’ve been there. The point was more to illustrate that there is definitely potential in this thing.

Ever heard of “New Grounds?” They’re basically about to recreate that place. Now all they need is a forum and it’ll be complete!
