The ringed city is the only part of dark souls 3 I remember. It was the highlight of the game.

The chair one is very entertaining.

I keep remembering the Apple Watch release in parallel to the vision pro’s release. The first Apple Watch was so awkward and had no real purpose other than an extra notification display. But over the years the Apple Watch found its footing through iteration and iteration and is now a great health tracker with a bunch of cool uses.

In 6 or so years the Apple vision headsets will be awesome… but so should competing VR/AR.

I had come to assume this update would never come. I always found it so odd the 6 year old last update was to prepare for a an update that never came. I wonder why the developer waited 6 years on a single massive update instead of… well just not doing that.

It makes so much sense that the most dense urban areas have the most wild Pokémon.

I think the music version would be MIDI.

Which is why I wanted to include video in my concept because video file sizes are getting out of control.

You wouldn’t use it if you didn’t want to, but I actually think family photos are great for this. The focus is family in the photo, not what the background details are. Not a lot of people care how many tree tops are in a graduation photo. Our memories work the same by storing the most important parts in the best detail, and redrawing other details when accessing the memory. And as handheld computation improves it will be a small task to render each image on view.

This is an idea I’ve been toying with for a bit. There is a ton of media that includes unimportant information that doesn’t need to be stored pixel perfect. Storing large portions of the image data as text will save substantial amounts of storage, and as the reality of on-device image generation becoming commonplace sets in digital memories will become the main way people capture the world around them. I think this will inevitably be the next form of media capture (photography and video), not replacing other methods/ formats, but I could see things like phone cameras having saving images as digital memories set to default to save on storage.

You should be asking what games don’t work on Linux at this point. I’m not even joking.

This is a great idea. Now only if they made any games I actually want to own…

So IR blasters were the future all along? Maybe not infrared exactly but it seems pretty similar.

Yes judge it’s an archive of classic games. Well yes, I have to play them so I can archive save files as well. It’s an archive, not a rom library. 🙂

Apple Arcade seems to have escaped this cycle and has games that feel like early mobile games where developers made their games passion projects; games are focused on fun without any in app purchases, games get constant content updates, remasters of some of the best mobile games but without ads or in app purchases.

At this point there’s little reason to not use mastodon. It’s very busy now, and will only continue to grow because of its decentralized nature. I do not understand people’s eagerness to use worse alternatives that are practically spyware.

For android to stay federated with other servers do they need to download all the posts from other servers to their server? I’m not too sure how the fediverse works.

Definitely seems like the creators are some real pieces of shit. But being open sourced means anyone can fork Lemmy anytime and make changes to the code. So if the creators mess with the code, people can just jump ship to a different fork. The integration with activitypub should make that pretty doable.
