Uhh am I crazy or did like every game I play go straight into where I last played (not checkpoint, not menu) with the feature? Non 1st party too. Maybe I just didn’t pay attention, but I do feel like games like Star Wars Survivor and FFXVI just went straight back to whatever random place I was in the game.

That’s an incredibly stupid idea to drop that feature. The video in the article says no one used this but uhhhhhhh anyone playing a PS5 game would be using it no? They may not realize it but wow losing it kinda really sucks.

No no this is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I’m the rare Witcher fan who’s read all the books, seen the shows (actually liked Season 1 Netflix despite changes, but now want the producers to never work again), but never played the games. I hadn’t played any because doing 2 games kinda felt like a task to play the one that’s so famous. I have W3 and def will play it now, especially cool to see the Wild Hunt in game. Thanks!!!

I just got it on sale ($15 off on Uplay) and I gotta say I’m rather confused why it isn’t more popular. It’s not perfect, and combat is a little simple, but it’s exceptionally well written, the mini games are legit fun, and the world feels really fleshed out and authentic and the music is outstanding. The main theme sounds like a modern take on Williams it’s crazy good.

Tbh I haven’t even noticed the “AI” generated stuff it’s no different than procedurally generated content if not even more well weaved in the game. I dunno it’s just fun for me. Just change the settings to all hard and disable the assists and suggestions.

Can’t wait for this, the duping mechanic for mobs turning on each other and terrain manipulation looks so freaking cool. Playing as Zelda saving Link is a fresh take and if the story is any good this could be a real sleeper classic for the franchise.

Also re: Dell if you don’t like the look of RGB gamer laptops, they put the same hardware in their XPS line which is more designed around MacBook looks (aluminum, minimal).

Assetto Corsa with realistic force feedback in non power steering cars is unironically a workout. Driving a F-40 on the Tokyo highway project for an hour and I actually sweat. Few times I’ve loosened the mounting of my wheel I have to grip it so hard haha. It’s advisable to let go of the wheel when you crash too.

Maybe, just maybe Ford is doing all these horrid patents so they can just hold on to them so no one can make them… Would actually be pretty brilliant

Yeah I use a DS5E and it’s a really well engineered controller, and I’ve always preferred the DS ergonomics. Just gotta use DS4Windows tool for some games remapping. But basically really whatever design ergonomic you prefer and buy that, they all support Windows now even Switch Pro.

Saw thumbnail and literally thought “weird they didn’t put any Dredd branding in the title?”

Holy shit I thought that was a Bethesda title, really high quality mod!

Both are on steam as well. Definitely recommend if you love old school, turn based SNES JRPGs but with a dash of modernization in specs/combat. The artwork of the environments are genuinely beautiful. Some of the characters stories are really boring, some are crazy good haha.

Square’s little studio turning out these HD2D games really have knocked it out of the park. Triangle Strategy is like FFT on steroids, hardest mode is really REALLY hard, although a bit grindy (arena training). Bravely Default II is a PS1 sprite version of HD2D ala FFVII with a really rich stats/specing. The CEO of Square hinted a Chrono Trigger HD2D remake is in the works too.

LMAO that guy really just use Halo to compare gameplay??? Also he clearly didn’t know about the Break system. “Don’t like turn based or random encounters” my brother in Christ did you not read the box? It’s specifically made for a group of nostalgic gamers who loved Chrono Trigger/FFIII grinds.

The real icing was setting up with modern games’ graphics and completely missing the bg/environment art of OT games are hand painted in the Unreal 5 engine haha.

Descent: Freespace series remains my favorite games of all time. Infinite space, dogfighting where you can match the enemy 's speed and target subsystems to disable them… and online multiplayer. Honestly wayyyy ahead of its time.

Also they made it open source to work on PlayStation, Switch, and PC. Pretty cash money move by Microsoft.

Oh yeah it def is. I’d be happy if it were shittier graphics is what I mean because the gameplay is really good.

Basically Gray Zone. Great game, but even on my i9-12900K, 3080Ti, 128GB DDR5 I have to play it on low settings. Like I’d be happy if they just ratcheted down the graphics quality because the gameplay is great.

Yeah for sure it’s still great.

While you are correct, eft is orders of magnitudes worse with cheaters than any other game. Russian devs transparently dgaf. It’s actually kinda impressive.

There’s the Homeworld Remastered collection that has 1-2 with HD graphics. You can start with 1 for the story but it’s pretty clunky and kinda hard because of it’s clunkiness or just watch YouTube videos of story. 2 was a pretty big upgrade in play centered around more advanced fleet tactics.

The real big release is Homeworld 3 next month and it looks like it’s got some really unique play and multiplayer. One of the few games I’ve preordered (CE) recently.

I cannot stress this enough if you’re remotely worried you’d get addicted you definitely should NOT play. I used to do opioids and I’m not exaggerating this game was more addictive for me. Like lose your job addictive. I’m adhd and on the ASD and absolutely obsessed with the concept of optimization. The thing is you’ll never really reach peak automation unless you do like this project, 400 people 10,000s of hours.

I’ll give you another reference point. I’ve also played wow, Arma Life, and Foxhole, all very common addicting games. I’d sit down to play one of those with a beer and after a ~3-5 hours and a few beers I’d take a break and notice time went by. Factorio I’d sit down at 6pm and never touch my beer, never move an inch from my seat and think a few hours went by when it’s now 8am and I only notice 14 hours went by because I see fucking sun light.

Fuck this video really makes me wanna play again haha.

Yeah I’m actually pumped for this game. I secretly hope they’ll have PC steering wheel support so I can disable all my normal range of motion and do the whacky driving like the arcade game haha. Also fine if not, I’d happily play this title on my PS5 too. It’s ok to have minimal expectations for a game even if they don’t have everything you want imo.

Just wanna get some airtime in the San Francisco hills haha.

Yep exactly this. I’m pretty tech oriented and even I was confused about the concept of instances at first.

Eh. Hopefully this doesn’t include their 2DHD department. Those are probably classified as low budget but are by far and away the best games they make rn.
