Everything up to the lord vessel. Your goals and fast travel completely changes how you play the game and the new areas are less interesting imo

I would say a lot of the characters don’t suck in disco Elysium but I also didn’t have the best of times with that game. It was cool and I think the zanyness they peppered into the writing was fun to experience.

I had a really hard time getting into Hades. It’s very visually pleasing, the VA is great but the gameplay feels unimpressive. Seemed I only almost completed one run but it just wasn’t all that to me

I find dark souls 3 successfully condensed down the mechanics and gameplay of the souls games but delivered nothing in terms of exploration and world building.

The lore is DS2 is very good but the gameplay feels so horrendously unpolished and a lot of enemy placement feels really bad.

If I could play ds2 with ds3 gameplay it would potentially be able to rival the first half of DS1 for me

I love this game. Number 1 game I’ve ever played. Sooooo good. I love thr characters so much

It’s on my list but I was not in the right head space when I started it. Currently loving animal well but I think tunic will work perfectly after I’m done with animal well!

I’ve been playing pseudoregalia lately and it’s been great in short sessions. It’s an N64 inspired 3D platformer. The only negative for the short sessions is that you do need to find a save point to quit, but in my experience they’re never more than 5 mins away.

All great games. I love crosscode so much. It may be my favorite game of all time. Hope you enjoy it!

Crosscode is my favorite game ive ever played. I shill for it every opportunity I have. It’s an incredible experience in my opinion and always stoked to hear about people getting into it. Good luck with it! :)

Transistor was also a cool game and it also didnt overstay it’s welcome imo

I’m getting back into the witcher 3 horse. Ive played it on and off over the years but never completed it. I’m looking forward to putting more time into it because its a really cool game so far

I just wanted to add that STS is a spectacular game and I hope you enjoy. Its a very challenging game but you learn pretty quickly.

If you run into issues and want advice there’s a bunch online but I’d love to help if you need it. Best of luck to you :)

Been playing phoenotopia: awakening in whatever spare time I have for the past little while. It’s been a good time!

No, it’s called nethack! There isn’t any colony management as far as I know tho. I was mistaken in that

Okay definitely valid about the lack of details… The only thing I can really remember about it was it being very punishing, and near impossible without a guide of some sort.

I feel like there maybe have been mention of crafting and/or colony management. I’ll see if I can find more details than this

Help finding an old text based game
There was a post on lemmy a couple of weeks ago about an old, hard, I think text based game. I wanted to look it up but forgot the name and I can't seem to find it anymore. Any help with this would be really appreciated. Edit: I don't think it's on the list of text based games on Wikipedia. I've added a comment with some meagre details I can remember The post referred to it being something they always went back to and it being a lightweight game (maybe from the 90s) I found it!!! Nethack is what I was looking for. Not text based but ascii. Sorry for the super vague question. It was mentioned in passing on some forum talking about ascii/text-based games. The post I was referring to: https://lemmy.world/post/1570921

Okay, that’s great. It looks really nice lol. I’ve got a few games to check out before I get to this one but it’s on my wishlist for sure and it’ll be something I get soon (hopefully)

I’ve been eyeing rusted moss. Looks really neat. Have you played it yet?
