Streamers really do be instantly reversing years of their character development just by getting banned from an internet platform for a few weeks

We live in times where making up bullshit is consequence free, even if you get called out on it. People seem to value if you can speak well more than if you’re speaking the truth.

But hey, it’s free speech in the marketplace of ideas, so maybe it’s actually a good thing.

Yeah, it’s a real sore spot for the community too - people often have 2 or more accounts due to various account types like mains who have no restrictions, ironmen who can’t trade and gotta get everything themselves, group ironmen which is ironman but co-op in a 5 person group and other modes that add additional limitations.

Not anymore, they’re killing grandfather rates with this update

EDIT: Nope, it’s only for 12-month premier club deal that happens once a year

I have prior MOBA experience and played Deadlock for around 50 hours already, and it’s a good game IMO. Of course, it’s not perfect and I do have a couple issues with it but it kinda deserves the hype.

Sounds like skill issue to be honest - if you farm well and deny you don’t fall far behind even if you eat dirt during the laning phase. Even if you get absolutely stomped and denied, there are still a lot of chances for you to return into the game by catching waves and pushing them out and jungling.

I’m kinda mid-to-high MMR right now (to the point where I can’t really play together with friends as we get always separated), and I’ve had so many games where I went 0/5 in the laning phase with a soul deficit, then ended up jungling/pushing waves/jumping on enemies if they were alone and then suddenly being top or close to top in souls on my team.

Pathologic 2 - it’s a really stressful game, but I think it’d be perfect for the criteria. The choices matter aspect are intertwined in both how you spend your time (it’s limited and you can’t be everywhere at once), and in quests (the more traditional choices, like pick A or B or C). Don’t want to spoil any more but it’s amazing, you don’t need to play the original.

Besides it, I’ve also heard good things from Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, though I haven’t played it personally.

Went back to playing Civ 5 and Civ 6 recently with friends, and even though Civ 5 is much older, we seem to enjoy it way more due to it being more simple. Civilization traits are way more easy to understand, AI feels better and more threatening and games are faster.

Old School Runescape. Kind of a cop-out answer as it’s a MMO, but I’m never gonna get maxed there

Yeah, 100%. If a game gets released in a mediocre unfinished state, and it doesn’t capture the attention of the player base back then it can certainly kill the game, I agree completely.

However, my original comment was mostly referring to the fact that games can be updated nowadays, unlike in the older days when you bought a game (when buying games was mostly done via retail stores and physical copies) and if the game was bad, it would be bad forever. There’s also the fact that there were a couple of high-profile cases where the game came out clearly unfinished or even unplayable (such as Fallout 76 and Cyberpunk 2077) that have fixed themselves, and if you were to mention that the game was bad at launch and how it was a bad business practice, you’d immediately get told to shut up and to look at what state the game is now.

It’s just not true anymore, especially with Steam. If a game releases in a sucky, broken state where more development time was definitely needed, nowadays the game companies will often just fix those games over time.

Yeah it’s one of those fake games they put in the movies so the movie company doesn’t have to pay licensing fees

Disco Elysium definitely, as it’s probably one of if not the best written games available right now.

If you want something with more gameplay, you should definitely take a look at Pathologic 2. New content will be released relatively soon for it too (as in a different playable character and story), so it’s probably a good time to give it a shot.

Not yet, but the teasers and ARG’s have dropped already. Probably a couple more months?

If you’re looking for “games as art”, I have 3 recommendations:

  1. Yume Nikki. It’s a classic RPGMaker horror game, which has inspired many Fan Games and even some more modern games, such as Undertale. Definitely at least give it a try and explore a little bit - the game play is minimal but it’s quite an atmospheric experience.

  2. Disco Elysium. It’s more of a very interactive book than a game, but the writing is just phenomenal. In the game you have 24 skills as your personality traits, and depending which ones you level up, they often come and chime in during conversations, giving funny remarks or advice - I love it.

  3. Pathologic 2. Can’t really get into its special mechanics without spoilers, but it’s such a gem of a game. I love it.
