Infinity was such a joke. They told everyone it was going to have a 10 year support plan despite the gaming coming out unfinished. Master Chief collection is great.
We’re reaching the point where a game needs to sell millions of copies to break even. Instead of spending $300 million on one big IP why not spend $1 million for 300 new IPs? Lethal Company made $100 million, they just need to do that 3/100 times to break even.
I remember when they did that with Breath of the Wild. Link literally has a WiiU gamepad that you can’t use on the WiiU. You can only use it as a main monitor.
They should’ve paid an intern to create button layouts for popular games. Way too annoying to program every single button when I can plug in a random console controller and have it all work.
It also keeps the value up for other “collectors”. I see this with NES game auctions. It’s always the same 6 people buying each other’s games to keep their own collections highly evaluated.
Pshh, you’re not familiar with the colossal Apple Arcade library? Everyone I talk to is playing hit Apple Arcade games like Sneaky Sasquatch and Solitaire.
The console demo used to be time locked. I’d go over a friend’s house to play split screen and see how far we could progress in 20 minutes. We use to speedrun building a nether portal until we found the one hidden inside the Minecraft logo.
They had a hilarious patent where they tried to copyright, “Player on moving platform jumps and keeps moving” in Tears of the Kingdom. Mf’s tried to copyright physics.
To a layman like me the gameplay looks the same. Groups of 2-3 people exploring a large map for resources. Encountering other groups and looting on the way. Extraction shooter to me just means more money on micro-transactions like bank slots.
