Infinity was such a joke. They told everyone it was going to have a 10 year support plan despite the gaming coming out unfinished. Master Chief collection is great.
We’re reaching the point where a game needs to sell millions of copies to break even. Instead of spending $300 million on one big IP why not spend $1 million for 300 new IPs? Lethal Company made $100 million, they just need to do that 3/100 times to break even.
I remember when they did that with Breath of the Wild. Link literally has a WiiU gamepad that you can’t use on the WiiU. You can only use it as a main monitor.
They should’ve paid an intern to create button layouts for popular games. Way too annoying to program every single button when I can plug in a random console controller and have it all work.
It also keeps the value up for other “collectors”. I see this with NES game auctions. It’s always the same 6 people buying each other’s games to keep their own collections highly evaluated.

The console demo used to be time locked. I’d go over a friend’s house to play split screen and see how far we could progress in 20 minutes. We use to speedrun building a nether portal until we found the one hidden inside the Minecraft logo.
They had a hilarious patent where they tried to copyright, “Player on moving platform jumps and keeps moving” in Tears of the Kingdom. Mf’s tried to copyright physics.
Couldn’t someone have bots play their game and generate money?
