Guides helped a lot for me. Also just watching people who routinely did good in ascension 20 was beneficial.
Some general advice that helped me quite a bit was:
Take on as many elite enemy’s as possible without dying. They make you stronger from the relics they give as well as the card rewards and potion drops.
Remove strikes and defends from your deck while adding new cards. You want to keep a smaller deck typically, but having draw cards is also great to help you get through your deck more quickly.
Upgrade cards as much as you can. Upgraded cards help you scale for fights.
Look at the map before doing anything on each act. You can plan a route and see what is the best path based on your character or what you start with.
All that said, each run is different but the more you play, the more informed you are so you can make better choices each run based on what you know.
I may give balatro another go at some point, but just didn’t give me the same feeling that slay the spire did.

Haha that is funny, I loved slay the spire. On lower ascensions, I would do pretty well, but after ascension 8, I struggled hard. I think the best I got was 12 or something on all the characters. Past that in couldn’t win most runs.
Balatro felt much more punishing for some reason I guess. Slay the spire has more strategy and skill based mechanics which i think made it more fun or at least, had mechanics that I could more easily enjoy/understand. In Balatros defense, I didn’t unlock everything so maybe thats why i didn’t enjoy it as much.
I really enjoy timberborn, but the building mechanics and the amount of blocks, decorations, and buildings leave something to be desired for me.
The overall gameplay is fun, but I’d really like more blocks and decorations to use as everything you build in this game looks very much the same through different playthroughs.
Also there needs to be something else to do with science after you unlock everything. Upgrades for beavers or something.
Older and or used hardware is gonna be a place to start for CPU and GPU. Used dell optiplex can get you most of the way there, then buy a decent GPU when you can. Just make sure it fits in the case and the PSU that comes with the optiplex can handle the power draw. I’d recommend a new PSU though. Dont buy used for PSU or storage is the best advice I can give.
Optiplex are not gonna get you top of the line performance or anything but it’ll be a lot better than nothing and you can always use it for something else later like a nas, a server, home theater PC, etc.
Me personally, I’ll never pre-order a game. Pre ordering is different from early access because i actually get the game even in a unfinished state.
All that said, it depends on the game. Timberborn has been the only early access game I felt has been worth it. The Devs are still putting out regular updates and have vastly improved the game since i bought it. Its been very fun to play from the beginning and has only gotten better.
Compare that to something like cyberpunk, yea I’m good. Couldn’t imagine how that must of felt to preorder that and get that mess on release. I think the main difference is the studio. AAA games I rarely buy anymore. Indie games though? Thats where I’m at.

I use lawnchair, I like it. It does what I want it to do. I can use a theme for icons, make an app drawer, and put apps in folders.
Its got other features as well, but those are the ones I care about and use. My favorite part is that its on fdroid which was a major plus for me. I’m using GrapheneOS, but I’m trying to limit what apps I download from google play just for more peace of mind and compatibility.

GTA Online’s latest event is called Bottom Dollar Bounties and focuses on letting players live that Dog the Bounty Hunter life in Los Santos, but it also adds the new Vinewood Club app to in-game phones.
This app “lets you easily request vehicles, claim all outstanding business safe earnings, and replenish ammo on your in-game phone.” Collecting cash from your businesses in GTA Online has always been a bit of a pain, and being able to do it from your phone instead is obviously a massive improvement. The catch, of course, is that it’s only available to GTA+ subscribers paying $8 a month (thanks, GamesRadar+).
I fucking love that little goblin in the corner. What a masterpiece
