Less temptation and more gave in already. I got myself the ultimate edition of stalker 2. The first ones were some of my all time favourite games and I’m so glad the sequel got made I felt like they deserved my money. Have to say I’m very happy with my purchase and I look forward to the dlc in the future. The atmosphere is great and the gameplay is fun. I strongly recommend it.

I really enjoyed my play through. It’s a genuinely beautiful game.

Gris is such a beautiful game. It’s up there with Journey and Sayonara wild hearts for me in the games I can easily hold up as art category.

I played death stranding during COVID and it was the perfect game to do then (no idea if that was patient at the time) the world being so beautiful and fun/ hard to navigate was great for when you couldn’t go outside. The soundtrack is brilliant too.

Love slay the spire, one of my favourite rogue likes. I love how many viable builds it has, just a little knowledge and you can make most runs viable.

I wasn’t very patient with that one at the time, somehow managed to get it running on my PC though and had my mind blown. Such a good game, basically everything is fantastic apart from that library level.

I absolutely loved it until the game forced you into a monastery and totally killed the pacing and my interest. I should maybe go back and try to get past that bit.

The remake is soo good. They really nailed it. Kept the good bits and updated the bad. They even fixed the asteroids turret section, it’s actually really fun in the remake.

I loved warrior within because it hit at exactly the right time for my dark teenager phase so the dark and broody prince and the dark and broody plot were perfect for me. Sands of time was so well done. I remember thinking how cool it was that the princess outfit changed as he went through the game.

Snap I’m about to go to the innermost zone. Really enjoying it so far. The vibes are great. It’s mostly chill with some intense oh god I’m going to die moments mixed in.

Ooo, colour me intrigued. I loved the Dungeon keeper games back in the day. Are we talking spiritual successor or just invokes some of the same feelings?

I’ve spent so long on Noita, I love it and it treats me so badly. I’m really not very good at it. I’ve barely scratched the surface and largely stopped after I had a successful (basic no secrets) run. I still go back to nuke myself into oblivion every now and then. I do love setting everything on fire.

I can second all of these. Generation zero is the only one I didn’t enjoy much but I suspect it’s a lot better with friends.

The rest are fab, I’m currently playing Kena it’s like Pixar/ Disney meets dark souls. Beautiful game, has these little critters which follow you around called rot who are super cute and you can put hats on them.

Control is just excellent. The combat feels great and for me the whole game was worth playing just for the Ashtray maze sequence.

I always enjoy a good story in my games. I particularly enjoyed the walking dead games. I’ve also just done a few runs of slay the princess which is a visual novel game with amazing voice acting and a romance/ existential horror plot. Quite short unless you do multiple runs but I’d definitely recommend it on sale.

Not sure it fits as it’s souls with guns, so missing the spectacle fighter element, but it’s definitely worth a look. They are both excellent games. I love the core loop they’ve got, the shooting feels excellent.

On this sort of line maybe Metal Gear Rising Revengence could be worth a look.

Check out Furi.

It’s a flashy boss rush style game. A bit bullet hell a bit brawler. Might scratch that itch for you.

You could also try Sifu, it’s got really slick skill based combat and interesting bosses.

Neir Automata has an absolutely banging soundtrack. You need to “finish” the game I think 3 times to see the final ending. Push through the run as 9s it is worth it. The ending has all the feels and the ending song is with it is phenomenal.

To The Moon has a beautiful soundtrack and a story which made me cry. It’s not a long game, I highly recommend it.

Syonara Wild Hearts is a video game music album. It’s really simple mechanically but the songs are great and it’s a proper Zen game.

Journey has a wonderful sound track, just get to like level 3 where your doing the big slide downhill and tell me that’s not magical.

Similar to Journey (but not quite as good) is Gris.

Bastion has some excellent songs and is a short experience.

Terraria has a brilliant soundtrack and great gameplay, very little story though. Great in multiplayer so find a friend.

Death Stranding has some great songs, a bit to spread out though. The story is Kojimas usual eclectic madness but I enjoyed it.

I did not know there was more than 1. I’m really enjoying the first one on switch though. Such a bonkers game, I agree with you on the music the first game has an excellent soundtrack.
