Just a below average idiot that mostly comments for one of 3 reasons:
Catharsis, expressing exasperation over the general state of things.
Looking to make someone laugh.
Self deprecation.
Difficulty settings are wack. Normal is too easy and hard is way too hard. The slider literally goes from 1x/1x damage taken/damage dealt to 3x/0.6!
This was my only real complaint, other than them taking the noise cue away from lockpicking! I’ve really been itching for an elderscolls game with modern graphics and QOL so I’m super happy.
As for the lockpicking I learned something recently from a video and now I never break a pick. I can’t believe I never knew this:
Basically when you hit one tumbler there are the 3 drop speeds right? You push it up and it falls either slow, med, or quick. They “switch” between those three speeds when the tumbler falls back to the starting position.
If you hit a tumbler up and HOLD up (I’m on controller), or whatever key is up, then the tumbler will bounce slightly in the fully raised position. When it’s like this it will be remaining in the “fall speed” from when you first triggered it. We want it to be the slow fall speed so basically while it’s bouncing if you see any spring between “bounces” it’s too fast, let it fall to the starting position and try again.
If it’s bouncing and you can barely see any movement at all let alone any spring then it’s in the slow position, that’s what we want. When it’s like that watch the lockpick and when the lockpick is moving upwards trigger the lock with whatever the confim button is for you. It should always work!
They didn’t fix shit that the unofficial patch fixed years ago. Like actual broken things just stayed broken… I did the main story mission in Kvatch and the NPC you followed into battle after you clear the oblivion gate got stuck in a courtyard. I looked up the issue and apparently it is a bug from the original game that the unofficial patch fixed… They know fixes exist, they just spent literally 0 time implementing them knowing “we” will do it for free…
As far as management goes x4 foundations is an awesome space game! I have hundreds of hours in that game spent just messing around with an industrial empire, buying mining ships, setting trade routes, all that fun stuff. You don’t even have to fight anything if you don’t want to.
I’m enjoying it quite a bit!
… except for the fucking lockpicking…
Whyyy did they have to make it so much harder?! It’s so unforgiving now and they took away the noise cue! I used to be able to do it without even looking at the screen because you could hear a distinct sound when it clicked into place. Now there are 3 different drop speeds and the sounds are so minimal…
It’s actually pretty fun especially if you’re watching something on another screen and just like to grind for items/levels. They have a free demo as well so I’d suggest anyone that finds this concept interesting to try it out!
They even have simulated global chat where people are assholes to each other lol very true to life.
Jesus Christ people…
I can almost understand most mmos when this happens, but you designed your freaking game to constantly stream gigantic amounts of data what the actual fuck?
I’m glad I didn’t buy it, but that was because of the incoming administration and their plans to allow data caps to go nutty… Can’t play a game that’s going to cost me tons of money just to play it :(
I am hoping for a work of art. I am expecting
starfield, but with a medieval coat of paint.
They’re too greedy to build a new engine and insist on sticking with the limited creation engine so they can keep churning out uninspired copy paste crap. It’s cheaper than the alternative and they don’t want to have to learn something new which also costs time(money).
I gave up on so-called “AAA” dev corporations. I hate that they squander good IPs keeping them locked up because they own them… :(
Definitely watch some videos or something on the combat and get ready to get frustrated! lol be cautious and watch the monsters for “tells.” They will make specific movements before doing specific moves, and some monsters will have set number of attacks in a move, stuff like a nargacuga will jump 3 times. Anjanath will more than likely be the first real “wall” as he hits hard for what armor you have.
It’s very satisfying when you come to learn the monster enough that you know your openings and how long you need. Getting stuck in an animation is painful lol
Good luck!
There was a game on the 3ds called Fantasy Life that was really really cool it was like a mix of RPG/action-ish with a mini game section where you would do various crafting stuff I’d love to see that on PC with better graphics and whatnot.
From what I understand others more knowledgeable than I am have said that person tried some nonsense where he gutted files from the OS that may have included dependencies for explorer.exe so if what Microsuck says is still true you can disable the screenshot function of recall and whatever other privacy settings you want and you’ll still be able to use your PC.
I really hope that’s true because I honestly don’t want to have to go to Linux and play IT guy constantly when I’m just trying to play a game or something after work. However much Microsuck sucks, windows almost always just works and the rare times I have an issue so many people use windows that I can easily find a fix.
I don’t wanna touch grass! Don’t make me! Lol
I’ll be “that guy” but according to Chris Roberts (the guy who owns CIG that is making the game) star citizen is supposed to be a “space life” game. It’s not an “arcade game” where there is a specific game type it is built around. You’re supposed to just be a dude/dudette living your life out in space and do what you want which can include all the things you mentioned. I personally want that very much. There are a million games out there that do the basic space pew pew thing or mining, but nothing like a life sim.
There’s going to be more than just hunger and dehydration, they built toilets and showers into some ships for a specific reason not just atheistics lol
I’ve given up on every major developer/publisher, so-called AAA garbage, except for capcom for monster hunter and square enix for final fantasy. I’ll be extra sad the day they too go the way of every other greedy lazy “AAA” game company…
At least indie devs care to make a good game and not try to make a money printing IP machine with some game like aspects in it.
One is specifically tied to the other. These people are being manipulated into being right wing pro-authoritarian voters because of “woke” blah blah blah. It’s always their boogie man because it has been made part of their identity, it’s part of the victim complex they have and they feel like “free speech warriors” when they fight against it… It’s fucking disgusting.
